Darrin Lexington Gammill

Darrin Lexington Gammill, 17, Augusta, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, after an accidental gunshot wound.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at the Augusta First Baptist Church, State & Kelly.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan.
16, at Dunsford Chapel.
Darrin was born Dec. 19, 1985 in Wichita.
He was an active member of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA), cross-country, track, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), through Augusta High School, where he was a member of the junior class.
He was also a member of the Towanda Police Department cadets in 1999-2000.
He belonged to the First Baptist Church of Augusta, where he was active in youth group and also helped during the services running the computer.
He was preceded in death by aunt, Elaina Noeller; grandfather, Richard Gammill; greatgrandmother and great-grandfather, Leona and Gene Copeland, Lela and “Shorty” Noeller; aunt and uncle, Myrtle Belle and Fred Craib.
Survivors are: parents, Michele and Harold Roth of Augusta, Clent E. Gammill of Washington; siblings, Justin and Katrina Cassity of Benton, Tracy Roth of Lee’s Summitt, Mo., Dustin R. Gammill and family stationed in Japan, Derrick Gammill of Washington; grandparents, James (Bud) and Ellen
Noeller of Sedgwick, Ann and Travis Shepherd of Missouri, Rosalie Gammill of Joplin; great-grandparents, Rev. & Mrs. Burton Greenwood of Missouri; aunts and uncles, Aretha and Ken Place of El Dorado; cousins, Maria Clark of Texas, Becca Meyer of El Dorado, Mr. & Mrs. Brent Gammill of Missouri, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Gammill of Missouri; great aunts and uncles, Richard and Joanna Green of Joplin, Mo., Aileen and Ted McCarter of Overland Park, Evelyn and Jim Cobb of Joplin, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Bill McClain of Shelbyville, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Bob McClain of Columbus, Ind.; numerous cousins.
A memorial in Darrin’s name has been established with Prairie State Bank in Augusta.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Cameron William Verdon

Cameron William Verdon, infant son of Robert and Tammy Verdon of Augusta, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.
His graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Kensington Gardens Cemetery in Wichita.
Other survivors include: grandparents, George W. III .and Sharon Verdon of Uvalde, Texas, Joe and Evva Lou Wooldridge, Carolyn Lamirand, both of Carrizo Springs, Texas; great-grandparents, George W. Verdon, Jr. of Lincoln, R.I., Patricia Berry of Uvalde, Texas.
Memorial established with Choices Medical Clinic.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Wilma Jean Lewis

Wilma Jean (Dotson) Lewis, 64, Augusta, homemaker, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Survivors include: son, Charles A. Lewis, Jr. of Augusta; daughter, Jean LaAnne Whitted of Atlanta; mother, Sarah J. Dotson of Augusta; brothers, William Harold Dotson of St. Louis, Mo., Lloyd Dotson of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Wonetta Davis of Augusta; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial established with American Cancer Society, 435 S. Broadway, Suite 100, Wichita, 67202.
