Luella Simon
Homemaker Luella Fanabelle “Lu" (Evans) Simon, 74, Augusta, retired bus driver and transportation director for Augusta public schools, owner of Simon Augusta Meat Locker from 1961-1972, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003.
Her Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at St. James Catholic Church.
She married LeRoy Simon on April 24, 1946 in Augusta.
Luella especially loved the outdoors, planting flowers and growing a garden. She loved family gatherings where there was lots of laughter and food.
She was preceded in death by: daughters, Pamela Weber Sowers, Rosalie Simon Parsons: parents, Jim and Rhoda Evans; brother, Jack Evans.
Survivors are: husband, LeRoy of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Junior and Ruby Simon, Dale and Lois Simon, Marc and Mary Simon, all of Augusta, Robert and Arlene Simon of Wichita, daughters and and sons-in-law, Joyce and Loyd Sims, Brenda and Ron Davis, of Augusta; brother and sister-in-law, James and Anita Evans of El Dorado; sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Keith Baessler of Wichita; grandchildren, Darwin and Carolyn Weber, Billy and April Hunt, Paul and Tess Phillips, Terry and Tina Wood, Jerry and Diane Simon, Lee and Erica Sims, Randy Sims, Chris and Toni Sneary, Michael Carmichael, Sean and Kristi Parsons, Andrew Simon, Kristi Davis, Jennifer Davis, Megan Davis, Jordan Simon and Stefani Simon; 26 great-grandchildren.
Memorials established with American Cancer Society, 435 S. Broadway, Suite 100, Wichita, 67202, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Tabea Berschauer, 89, Rose Hill, formerly of Augusta, homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003.
Visitation from 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at Dunsford Chapel in Augusta. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Wakeeney Cemetery in Wakeeney.
Survivors: nephew and niece, Richard and Beverly Schneider of Rose Hill; several other nephews and nieces.
Memorial established with Zion Lutheran Church, Rt. 2, Box 82, Wakeeny, 67672.

Mary Fulkerson, 45, Wichita, homemaker, mother of Sharon Fulkerson of Augusta, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003.
Services were pending this morning.
Other survivors include: husband, Robert; son, Martin of Wichita; daughter, Michelle Fulkerson of Wichita; mother, Marie Frame; brother, Donald Frame; sister, Donna Frame, Jeanette Frame, all of Scotland; five grandchildren.
All Faiths Funeral Services of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
