Arlette A. Peace

Arlette Augusta (Clawson) Peace, 89, homemaker of Sacramento, CA, formerly from Augusta, passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice Friday, April 25, 2003.
She was born Dec. 19, 1913 in Whitewater as the daughter of Effie (Snorf) and Dick Clawson.
She graduated from Augusta High School in 1932.
She married James Marion Peace that same year. They later made their home in Denver, CO.
She is survived by her son, James L. Peace of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Clementine Reed of Santa Clarita, CA, and Eva Jeanette Carr of Augusta, and three granddaughters, one grandson, and many greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Alfie Clawson, and a daughter, Marion Patricia Peace.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Denver, CO., and will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her and loved her.

Wilma I. Holroyd

Wilma I. Holroyd, 74, Winfield, retired L.C. Holroyd Insurance Agency owner, mother of Carol J. Smith of Augusta, died Monday, April 28, 2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Winfield First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Virginia Maas of Hoskins, Neb.; sisters, Gwendolyn Leitch of Pooler, Ga., Sharon Brown of Wichita; eight grandchildren.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home of Winfield has charge of the arrangements.

Ernest W. Hood

Ernest Wayne Hood, 61, Wichita, retired Wichita Eagle printer, father and father-in-law of Robert and Carol Hood of Douglass, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Other survivors include: wife, Elaine; son, Dereck of Solomon; brother, Eldon Hood of Fredricksberg, Va.; half brothers, Bobby Ray Massey, Billy Joe Massey, sister, Karen Harris, all of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren.
Memorials established with First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 2401 S. Ohio, Salina, 67401, and Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund in Wichita.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of the arrangements.

Patrick Z. Holmes

Patrick Z. Holmes, 85, Rose Hill, retired Cessna Aircraft hydraulic press operator, died Monday, April 28, 2003.
Visitation with family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, both at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Preceded in death by: son, Mark Upton; daughter, Christine Marie Upton; parents, Acker and Annie (Burke) Holmes; three
brothers; two sisters.
Survivors are: wife, Alice; sons, Barney Upton, Tyrone Upton, Michael Upton, -Jerry Maskrid; daughters, Lynn Martin, Teresa Darling; brothers, Lowell Holmes, A.P. Holmes; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial established with Hospice Care of Kansas.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
