Beulah V. Black

Beulah Vesta Black, 91, Augusta, homemaker, died Sunday, May 4, 2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Dunsford Chapel in Augusta.
She was born on May 27, 1911 in Bartlesville, Okla., to Richard and Ines (Knupp) Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David G.
Black in 1993. Beulah came to Augusta in 1913 and graduated from Augusta High School in 1931.
She and David were married for 59 years. Mrs. Black was a talented and avid china painter. She was past president of Sunflower China Decorators Club of Wichita. She also served as president of the Kansas Federation of China Painters and was a member and teacher in the International Porcelain Artists. She was a member of the Grand Chapter of the Kansas Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She continued to teach china painting to students until the day she fell and broke her hip on Dec. 8, 2002. She died of complications from the fall.
Survivors are: nephew, Philip and Anita Johnson and their son, Brian and his family of Seattle, Wash.
Memorial established with the Augusta Historical Society.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.


Albert E. Henry

Retired furniture store owner Albert Eugene “Gene” Henry, 73, Wichita,father of Terri Sullard of Augusta, died Thursday, May 8, 2003.
His funeral service will be held will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at East Point Church of Christ. Visitation 9 to 10 a.m. prior to service at the church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Other survivors include: wife, Betty Henry; children, Michael and Ruth Howard of Wichita, Patrick Henry of Singapore, Sheryl Henry of Goddard; mother, Vivian Henry of Wichita; brother, Jim Henry of Mountain

Alice L. Lechner

Alice Leona Lechner, 81, Andover, homemaker, died Thursday, May 8, 2003.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 9, and funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday., May 10, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Walter Lechner; daughter, Irene Lechner; grandson, Johnny Daggett
Survivors are: son and daughters n-law, Walter and Leanne Lechner of Towanda; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene Lechner and Mike Davis of Andover, Maxine and Dean Gracy of Wichita; daughter, Alene Daggett of Wichita; grandson, Dale Gracy of Wichita; granddaughters, Karen Reed, Caralee Merritt, both of Wichita, Loralee Bannon of Douglass, Barbara Woolery of Andover; great-grandchildren, Crystal and Jordan Reed, Macyn and Jadyn Gracy, Exandrea Morehouse, Donovan Gray, Amanda Bannon.
Memorial established with Grace Lutheran Church Fund, 1124 W. Central, El Dorado, 67042.
Dunsford Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
