Alma Ruth Orr
Alma Ruth (Hood) Orr, 96, Augusta, mother of Max Mason of Augusta, died on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003.
Her graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller, Mo.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1907 in Miller, Mo., to Walter and Ada (McKinney) Hood. She was a graduate of Miller
High School and attended Springfield Teachers
College, now known as Southwest Missouri State Universitys (SMSU).
She was married to Glen Mason on Sept. 16, 1926 until 1930. They had one son, Max Mason.
She married Paul Orr on Nov. 15, 1932. He died on July 17, 1980. They had lived in Springfield since 1967.
In 1999 she moved to Augusta to be near her son and his family.
She was a longtime member of the Julia Rebekah Lodge No. 72 in Springfield, Mo. She was a member of the Past Noble Grand Club and received the Rebekah Assembly Degree. She was also past president of the Patriarch Militant
Department of Missouri I.O.O.F No. 23.
She was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield and attended Sunday School regularly until her move to Augusta.
She worked for 26 years at
the Missouri State Tuberculosis Sanitarium, now Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, Mo. She retired as food service manager.
Mrs. Orr was a dedicated and loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
She will be missed by her son, Max Mason and his wife, Nellie Ann, along with her grandchildren and their wives that knew her as “Maw-Maw.” Her grandchildren are: Steve and
Becky Mason of Little Rock, Ark.; Mark and Zita Mason of Wichita; Pamela Mason of Denton, Texas; Gregory Mason of Andover; great-granddaughter, Hannah Mae Mason of Andover.
A memorial has been established with Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Mo. for Miller Memorial Gardens. Broadway Mortuary of Wichita will be taking care of the local arrangements.

Donald Simmons

Donald W. Simmons, 64, Andover, Cessna tooling manager and retired Boeing employee, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.
His funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be possible today, Aug. 8, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Survivors are: wife, Arsula E.; mother, Grace Simmons of Fredonia; son, Lonnie Simmons of Rose Hill; daughter, Tonia Gregg of Derby; brother, Allen of Wichita; two grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd., St. Louis, Mo., 63131.
Headley Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements.

Elizabeth “Betty” Osborn, 85, Winfield, mother of Priscilla All of Augusta, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.
Her service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 9, at the First Congregational Church in Stockton.

Elizabeth “Betty” Whittemore Osborn, 85, Winfield, mother of Priscilla All from Augusta, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.
Her funeral service was Saturday, Aug. 9, at the First Congregational Church in Stockton. Rev. Lyle Miller officiated and burial was in the Stockton Cemetery.
In addition to Mrs. All and her husband David of Augusta, Mrs. Osborn leaves son Dr. Mark and wife Susan Obsorn of Frazer, Pa.; daughter Barbara and her husband Fred Humpert of Winfield; eight grandchildren (Stacy All, Matt All, Sarah Cox, Nathan Osborn, Rachel Osborn, Beth Humpert, Andrew Humpert and Katy Humpert) and two great-grandchildren (Helena and Thomas All).
Memorials to the First Congregational Church of Stockton, the Nova Theatre at Stockton, the Austin-Whittemore Museum at Vermillion, S.D., Cumbernauld Village of Winfield, Cottonwood Point of Augusta or the Independent Development of Education in Augusta have been suggested.
