Eula G. Carter

Eula Geneva Carter, 84, Andover, retired Beech Aircraft screen maker, mother and mother-in-law of Dennis and Anna Fletcher of Augusta, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003.
Her funeral service was held today, Aug. 11, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Laura Woolery; brothers, Lee and Willard; sisters, May and Lena; daughter, Janet Sue Fletcher.
Other survivors include: husband, Dewane C. Carter of Andover; daughters Sue Craig of Johnstown, Colo., Charlotte Englund of Auburn, Wash.; son, Randy Carter of Everett, Wash.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements. _________

Luella Harris

Luella McVay Harris, 94, Philadelphia, Pa., retired Kansas school teacher, sister of Laree Watson of Augusta, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003.
Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Aug. 12, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Other survivors include: son, Kim Harris of Nevada; daughter, Kay Harris of Philadelphia; two grandsons.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of arrangements.

Charles D. Ward

Former Augsutan Charles Dennis Ward, 60, Chanute, regional supervisor law enforcement Region 5 of Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel in Chanute.
He was a former employee of the Augusta Safety Department.
Survivors are: wife, Jackie; mother, Wilma of Caney; daughters, Rochelle Ward, Cynthia Schroeder, Angela Taylor, all of El Dorado; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg or Northern Cherokee Tribe and left with the Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel.

Betty I. Reed

Betty Irene Reed, 75, Augusta, retired federal government employee and civil service employee and former employee at Prairie State and Augusta State banks, died Sunday, Aug, 10, 2003.
He funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,Aug. 15, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Hill City, with Spencer-Stinemetz Chapel.
Survivors are: daughters, Penny Thiel of Augusta, Angie Rollins of Vidor, Texas, Pam Frost of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Orval C. Reed.
Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. _

Don Millison

Don Millison, 80, Wheatridge, Colo., formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 18 in Golden, Colo.
He was raised in Augusta and was an Augusta High School graduate.
Mr. Millison was an officer in the United States Navy during World War II, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and several other service awards.
He spent many years in the oil business in Louisiana Texas, and Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Anna Millison, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are: daughter, Michele Hoovler of Golden, Colo.; sons, Doug of El Cerrito, Calif., David of New York City, Dan of Manila, Philippines; six grandchildren; sisters, Louise Cline of Watauga, Texas, Mary Kay Rains of Wichita; brother, Ross of Reno, Nev.
Memorials may be sent to the May Gruver Scholarship Fund in care of Augusta High School.

John MacKinnon

John W. MacKinnon, Largs, Scotland, brother of Annie Lovette of Augusta, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003. Funeral services are pending.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter MacKinnon; mother, Susan MacKinnon Hindshaw; step father, James A. Hindshaw; his wife, Margaret MacKinnon; half-brother, Sandy Hindshaw.
Survivors include: brother, Stephen MacKinnon; sister, Susan Davidson.
