Maxine Porter

Maxine (Burklund) Porter, 79, Wichita, homemaker, sister of Dorrene Spires of Augusta, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003.
Family visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita;
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday,Sept. 10, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include: son, Randy Porter; daughter, Deborah Taylor, both of Wichita; brother, Clayton Burklund of Topeka; sisters, Ruby Rowe of Denver, Colo., Mae Kimer of Wichita; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Victory in the Valley.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita has charge of arrangements.

Otis B. Doss

Otis B. Doss, 60, Springdale, Ark., retired Cargill employee, brother of Ethel Aitchison of Augusta, died Sept. 1, 2003.
Service was held on Sept. 5 and burial was in Belt Cemetery at Watalula, Ark.
Other survivors include: sons, Rodney of Fayetteville, Ark., Otis, Jr. of Springdale, and James of Calico Rock, Ark.; brothers, Calvin of Renton, Wash., James of Ozark, Ark., Curtis of Springdale; sister, Dena Holmes of Ozark; four grandchildren.

Eva M. Thompson

Eva M. Thompson, 93, Cedar Vale, mother of David Thompson of Augusta, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Cedar Vale United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: husband, Floyd; daughters, Shirley Kennedy of Green, Judy Kennedy of Valley Center; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchi ldren.
Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City has charge of the arrangements.

Frederick E. Wendt

Frederick E. Wendt, 71, Wichita, retired Boeing Wichita electrician, brother and brother-in-law of Audrey and Leroy Gray of Augusta, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
Visitation willbe possible from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Other survivors include: wife, Maria Wendt of Wichita; sons, Gary Sawyers of Dallas, Texas, John Cruz of Bossier City, La., Albert Cruz of Wichita; daughters, Marcia Guzman of Santa Rita, Guam, Janet McAvoy of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother, Carl E. Wendt.
Memorial established with the nurses training program of the 40 & 8 Voiture 58 Chapter.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Nellie M. Colburn

Nellie M. Colburn, 95, Towanda, retired Wesley Medical Center LPN, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003.
Visitation 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Central Baptist Church.
Survivors are: sisters, Lucille Ades and Sarah Walther, both of El Dorado, Evelyn Belford of Wichita; several nieces and nephews.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.
