Ruth Wintermote Died In El Dorado
Ruth L. Wintermote, 82, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, died Friday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service was 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Carlson Funeral Home. Rev. Harold E. Keeler and Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiated. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery here.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas University Endowment Association in Lawrence and the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado.
She was born Aug. 19, 1900 in Augusta to John C. and Ruth Ellen Ferril Clouse.
She married John Wintermote Nov. 21, 1919 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She lived in Augusta until 1949. She worked at a theater and grocery store in Augusta.
Survivors include two sons, John “Bill” Wintermote of Dallas, Texas, and Richard Wintermote of Lawrence; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Sister Dies In Winfield
Pearl Cain, 94, Winfield, sister of Cecil Busch of Augusta, died Monday at a nursing home there.
Her service was at 10 a.m. to-
day at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Father John Dinan officiated and burial was in the Udall Cemetery.
She was born June 20, 1888 in Udall to Michael and Anna Bentley Busch.
She married Charles Melvin Cain Nov. 21, 1910. He died in 1941.
Other survivors include a son, Edward Cain of Eudora; another brother, Ernest Busch of New Albany and a sister, Alice Smith of Udall.

Joel Copeland Dies At Home
Joel Albert Copeland, 63, 1441 1/2 Starkey, died Tuesday at his home.
His services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Schepis will officiate and burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Vian, Okla., to Ben and Roxy Marlow Copeland.
He married Clarious Duty August 2, 1939 in Salisaw, Okla. She survives.
He was a retired Cessna Aircraft Co., employee.
Other survivors include sons, Michael Copeland of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Henry Copeland of Wichita; daughters, Freda Fisher of Norwich and Delinda Copeland of Augusta; a brother, Nathaniel Copeland of Vian, Okla.; sisters, Geneva Breshears of Muskogee, Okla., and Josephine Bagley of Bakersfield, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.
A son, Joel C. Copeland, preceded him in death Feb. 25.

John McEntire Dies At AMCI
John Henry McEntire, 65, 514 Oak, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Douglass Cemetery. Phil McCormick will officiate.
He was born Sept. 17, 1917 in Scotland, Kan., to William Henry and Viola Scott McEntire.
He was a farm laborer.
Survivors include brothers, Andy McEntire of Marysville, Calif., and Raymond McEntire of California; sisters, Ruth Hankins of Augusta, Verba Smith, Okay, Okla., Mrs. Wilbur Weaver of Ft. Gibson, Okla., and Marie Scott of Visilia, Calif.

Father Dies
Charles L. Giles, 86, Garden City, father of Ruth Weidensaul of Augusta, died at St. Catherine’s Hospital there Wednesday.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Plymell Union Church in Garden City. Pastor Richard Laribee and burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Plymell Union Church.
He was born April 15, 1897 in Claflin to Alexander and Mary Belle Miller Giles.
He married Louzell Freeman June 8, 1921 in Tonganoxie. She survives.
He was a farmer and stockman. He served in the army during World War I.
Other survivors are sons, Gary L. Giles of Seaford, Va., Charles E. Giles of Sublette; daughters, Maxine Ellsaesser of Sublette, Nita Mae McDaniel of San Antonio, Texas, and Marjorie Roxstrom of Seattle, Wash.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
