Augustan killed on RR track

James Robert Rutliff, 40, Augusta, died as result of injuries suffered in a train mishap early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, Rutliff was walking home when he was struck by a southbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway freight train.
Police received a call from the railroad officials around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Augusta safety officers found Rutliff 390 feet south of the U.S.
Highway 54 Overpass.
Safety chief Tyler Brewer said Rutliff died at the scene.
Brewer said the investigation shows no evidence of foul play. Rutliff had reportedly been drinking earlier in the evening at a lounge on the east side of town.
His funeral service will be tomorrow afternoon at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.

James R. Rutliff

James R. Rutliff, 40, Augusta, shipping and receiving manager for Vornado Air Circulation Systems, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Survivors are: sons, Jarod Rutliff of San Diego, Calif., Jacob Rutliff of El Dorado; brother, Jack C. Rutliff of McPherson; sisters, Barbara Dean, Debbie Butler, both of El Dorado; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Robert Dean and F. Nadine (Pruitt) Rutliff.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for the Rutliff College Fund. These may be left at Carlson Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.

Ruby E. Clippinger

Ruby E. Clippinger, 97, Augusta, retired Calvert’s employee and grocery store owner, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003.
Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Elmwood Cemetery in
Augusta.
Survivors are: daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Lewis Mayfield of Augusta; grandchildren and spouses, Jerry and Bette Mayfield, Kerry and Jaye Mayfield, Deeny and Anthony Burch; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Emerson Clippinger.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.

John H. Hyde

John H. Hyde, 89, Augusta, retired farmer, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003.
His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16,at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Evelyn Hyde of Minneapolis; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Gary Harmon of Andover; grandchildren, Tim Harmon, Nathan Hyde, Karyn Clanton and husband, Aaron, Kari Hyde; nephew, Donald E. Hyde; nieces, Susan Jennings and Mary Lynn Perrill; two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Joyce Hyde and granddaughter, Capt. Kimberly Wielhouwer.
Memorials may be directed to Kimberly Wielhouwer Fund, Andover Advantage USD 385, 1432 N. Andover Rd., Andover, 67002, and Andover United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Glenn Fuller

Glenn Fuller, 83, Donna, Texas, retired Boeing employee, former Butler County resident, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003.
His graveside service was held today, Oct. 17, at Economy Cemetery in El Dorado.
Survivors include a son, Joe Fuller, one grandson; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews of Augusta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Mildred), and three brothers (Leroy, Clarence, and Kenneth).

Lois L. Kilgore Williams

Lois L. (Turner) Kilgore Williams, 72, Wichita, homemaker, formerly of Augusta, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at First United Methodist Church in Valley Center.
Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center.
Survivors are: daughter, Pamela A. Kilgore of Wichita; sons, Rocky Kilgore of Atlanta, Ga., Rusty Kilgore of Wichita; grandchildren, Jada, Justin, Erika, Brett, Lacy, Tom and Michael; great-granddaughters, Zoe and Kelsey; seven brothers; five sisters.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Norman L. Kilgore; parents, Lloyd and Hazel (Towner) Turner; two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center is handling arrangements.
