Oren Leslie Hamilton
Oren Leslie Hamilton, 83, Augusta, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial with military honors will follow at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Buxton.
Mr. Hamilton was bom in Elk City on Nov. 27, 1919 to Roy and Matilda (Bradford) Hamilton. II with the United States Army Air Corps.
He served four years of active duty (1941-1945) in World War
He married Wilma Stackley in 1941 and she survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Carolyn Yoder of Great Falls, Va.; two granddaughters; sister, Tilla M. Garner of Fredonia; brother, Buford Hamilton of Haysville; several nieces and nephews.
During his life, he owned and drove taxi cabs, semitrucks, and enjoyed racing horses. After his retirement from Ford Motor Company as a salesman, he bought and repaired tractors.
Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Kansas Race and Game Commission. He was a Mason for 25 years, a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Dorothy G. Jackson, 81, Wichita, homemaker, mother and mother-in-law of Teresa and Bill Presley l Augusta, died Sunday, Nov. 9,2003.
Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Nov. 14, at Anchor Church of God in Wichita.
Other survivors include husband, Don of Wichita; son, Bill Jackson of Newton brother, Chuck Comer c Albuquerque, N.M.; sistei Elsie Trimble of Wichita; six: grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Memorial established with Alzheimer Association.

Francis E. Wallace Sr.
Francis Earl Wallace, Sr., 97, Gun Barrel City, Texas, formerly of Augusta, retired Santa Fe Railroad employee, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, at Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita.
Survivors include; son, Francis Earl, Jr. of Baxter Springs; daughters, Evelyn Channell of Seven Points, Texas, Lenora Moses and Grace Thomason Colli, both of Gun Barrel,Texas, Mary Wilcox and Myra Smith, both of Kansas; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
Jenny Baker
Jenny Sundgren Baker, 24, Rosalia, granddaughter of Rex and Jessie Rose of Augusta, died Nov. 8, 2003.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the First Christian Church of El Dorado.
She also leaves her parents, Steve and Jacque Sundgren of Rosalia, her husband Shane Baker, her sister Jamie Sundgren of El Dorado.
Donations to the Jenny Sundgren Baker Memorial Fund have been suggested.
The Kirby Morris Funeral Home at El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Baker died of injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident around 7:15 a.m. Saturday near NE Flinthills Road and NE 20th Street, north of Rosalia.
Her overturned 1999 Dodge Stratus automobile was discovered in a creek by a officer of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, according to a sheriffs office report.
Sheriff Stan Cox said Baker’s vehicle veered left of center, traveled through the west ditch before striking a bridge barrier wall.
