Carl Leroy Wright

Leroy Wright, 73, Augusta, passed away on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. or Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be possible until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 31, 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 1, 2004.
Carl Leroy Wright was born in Humbolt on Jan. 23 1930, the son of the late Carl B. and Doris (Ham) Wright.
He grew up in Humbolt and was city clerk for Humbolt before moving to Augusta in 1965. After graduation from Wichita State University with a degree in business administration, he worked at various companies around Wichita, ending up at Boeing Aircraft as a scheduler and retiring in 1995.
He attended the Augusta First Baptist Church and Sunday School functions. He enjoyed being in the backyard watching nature and reading newspapers on the web as well as browsing webcams of places where his children live.
On Jan. 23 1955 he married Donna (Couch) in Humbolt. She survives.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: sons, Keith and wife, Linda of Thornton, Colo.. Kirk and wife, Lavonne of Katy, Texas, Kevin of Manhattan; daughter, Debra and husband, James Glaze of Beaumont, Texas; brother, James and wife, Carol of Mulvane; sister, Elsie Wright of Derby; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association or First Baptist Church of Augusta.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
