Anna Elizabeth Farney
Anna Elizabeth (Oesch) Farney, 87, Wichita, homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004.
She was the mother and mother-in-law of Earlene and Chuck Young, Judy and Max Reimschisel, all of Augusta.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: sons, Jerry Farney of Wichita, Terry Farney of Towanda; daughter, Bertie Reimschisel of Andover; siblings, Edith Mayer of Indianapolis, Ind., Emily Went, Martha Oesch, Elmer Oesch, all of Mansfield, Ohio; 27 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Harvey Farney; parents, Karl and Tillie (Fuhrer) Oesch; brothers, Ben, John and Robert Oesch; sisters, Rose Munson and Helen Ramsier.
Services are under the direction of Watson Funeral Home and Garden Chapel in Wichita.
Robert K. ‘Bob’ Beard
Robert K. “Bob” Beard, 76, Augusta, retired auto salesman, died on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1927 in Neodesha to Neal and Golda (McRoberts) Beard.
He married Vada Mae I. Adams on March 29, 1948.Survivors are: wife of almost 56 years, Vada; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Kathy Beard Walker and husband, Gail of Bella Vista, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael on March 22, 1991; sister, Roberta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Total Homecare & Hospice, 250 W. Douglas, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
Ruth Catherine Train
Ruth Catherine Train, 87, Andover, formerly of
Augusta, homemaker, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Andover Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be possible from 1 to 8 p.m. tomorrow,
Jan. 13, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
She was born in Salina on Oct. 1, 1916, the daughter of the late Dale and Dora (Baker) Tucker.
On Oct. 9, 1935 she married Kermit LeRoy Train in McPherson. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1998.
Survivors include: sister, Dorothy and husband, Dan Yordy of Salina; children and spouses, Kerma and John Karoly of Chicago, ILL., Marilyn and Don Drescher of Hollywood, Fla., Larry and Shirley Train of Augusta, Martha and Stan Cook of Nashville, Tenn., Dennis and Jenice Train of Andover; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Train was also preceded in death by brother, Joe Tucker.
Memorials are requested to Andover Assembly of God or to the donor’s choice.
Service arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.
