Glenda Smith

Glenda Smith, 67, rural Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Headley Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be possible from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home.
She was born in Burlington on March 7, 1936 to the late Glenn L. and Iris C. (Garrett) Smith.
She was a client at Flint Hills Services, formerly Terramara. Survivors are: brother, Loel and his wife, Terri Smith of rural Augusta; sister, Lindola and husband, Raymond Long of Salisaw, Okla.; sister, Schlene and husband, Marvin Davis of Augusta; sister, Leesa and husband, Mike Walker of El Dorado; seven nephews, five nieces; many great nieces and nephews.

Carolyn Wolfe

Carolyn Wolfe, 70, Wichita, retired USD 259 secretary, sister of Jerry Milligan of Augusta, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Affinity Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors include: daughters, Debbie Strong of Wichita, Denice Cole of Moore, Okla., Deana Bowers of Wichita; brother, Dick Milligan of Wichita; four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Bessie Milligan.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Affinity Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Jim Palmer

Jimmie Max Palmer, 77, Sedan, retired oil field worker, father of Martha Ferguson of Augusta, died Sunday, Jan. 11,2004.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Sedan. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Sedan.
Other survivors include: son, Joe Palmer of Overland Park; daughter, Connie Kingsley of Wichita; brother, Bernard Palmer of McPherson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan is in charge of the arrangements.

Herbert W. Miller

Herbert Wayne Miller, 84, Augusta, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004.
Services were pending this morning with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Andrew Serna

Andrew “Andy” Serna, 46, Augusta, Camp Ta-wa-ko-ni camp ranger, died Monday, b Jan. 12, 2004.
His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15,
at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A memorial gathering will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Camp Ta-wa-ko-ni in appreciation of Andy’s service to Scouting. Everyone is invited to attend.
Survivors include: wife, Cindy Serna; daughter, Danielle Serna of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Brian Smart. Andrea and Bret Wilcox, all of Augusta; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Kathy Serna of Kansas City, Kans.; sisters, Sandy Gonzalez, Cindy Serna, Kandi Serna, and Jessica Serna, all of Wichita; mother, JoAnn Serna Francis of Wichita; grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Smart, Braydon Levi Wilcox, both of Augusta.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Ranch Hands at Quivera Scout Ranch.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
