Funeral arrangements were pending this morning at the Headley Funeral Home Chapel for barbershop operator Dennis Fletcher, 61, who died today, Jan. 15, 2004.
Wayne Miller
Wayne Miller, 84, Augusta, retired locksmith and United
States Army veteran of World War II, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the First Baptist Church. Visitation is possible from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1919 in Clearwater to Herbert and Verna (Lukens) Miller.
He married Clara (Daniels) Moody on June 10, 1950 in Wichita.
Survivors include: wife, Clara; brother, Arthur Miller of Mountain View, Calif.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hazel and Everett Kingsley of Augusta; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Celia B. Penner, 69, Douglass, retired J.C. Penney associate, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Douglass United Methodist Church. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass.
Survivors are: husband, Roy; sons, Douglas of Sammamish, Wash., W.A. Martin of Bentonville, Ark.; brother, Cecil Veryl Widick of Valley Center; sisters, Luetta Haas of Benton, Leitta Gragg of Valley Center; four grandchildren.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Arrangements under the direction of Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass.
William H. Todd
Truck driver William H. Todd, 66, Douglass, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at the Douglass Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife, Eunice; sons, Vernon of Mulvane, Allen of Bel Aire, and Harold; daughters, Linda Coss of Augusta, Diana Todd of Douglass; 11 grandchildren.
Affinity Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
Harold W. Blake
Harold Warren Blake, 82, Scranton, stepfather of Stanley Stowell of Augusta and Steven Stowell of Andover, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.
He has been cremated.
The family will greet friends at a visitation from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
Mr. Blake worked 33 years for the Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Co. and retired as a district superintendent.
In addition to wife Virginia, he also leaves two sons, a daughter, two stepdaughters, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested.
Dennis Allen Fletcher
Dennis Allen Fletcher, 61, Augusta, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004.
The service to celebrate his life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation is possible from 12 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, with family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Fletcher was born in Augusta on Feb. 24, 1942. He was the son of the late Floyd W. and Eula (Woolery) Fletcher.
He was a barber since 1960 and owned Fletcher’s Barber Shop in downtown Augusta since 1976.
He was a member of the WFO Guys and requested that those with ‘vintage’ cars drive them to the service.
On May 1, 1994 he married Anna (Lebeda) in Reno, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Curtis and wife, Lisa Fletcher, Chris Fletcher, all of Augusta; daughter, Felisha and husband, Rex VanArsdale of Augusta; sister, Sue and husband, Bob Craig of Johnstown, Colo.; step father, Dewane Carter of Augusta; grandchildren, Ashley and Josh Fletcher, Shannon, Gage, Danielle and Garrett VanArsdale; son, Mark Millhauser of Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Sue.
Memorial contributions may be made to Augusta Little League Baseball, Softball or Soccer, and Trinity Hospice.
