Jean F. “Grandma Jean” Hunter, 79, Augusta, retired civil service employee, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004.
Her memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Survivors are: son Robert Hunter of Augusta; daughter Patricia Yoder of Augusta; six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Service arrangements are by Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Charles W. ‘Chuck’ Weaver
Charles Warren “Chuck” Weaver, 46, Walton, Ky., regional sales distribution manager for the Lexington Herald and brother of Cheryl Smith of Augusta, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Jan. 22, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence, Ky. Interment will be at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, Ky.
Other survivors include: wife, Vicky Lea Smith Weaver; sons, Troy W. and Trent L. Weaver of the home; parents, Charles and Clara Weaver of Fair Play, Mo.; sisters, Carla Hronek of Olathe, Cathey Jones of Wichita, Charlene Weaver of Fair Play, Mo.

William H. Marshall, 71, Greensburg, abstractor and retired United States Navy Lt. Commander, brother of Laurel Becker of Augusta, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004.

Ruth M. Maddox, 77, Augusta, died Friday, Jan. 16,2004.
Her funeral service was held today, Jan. 19, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
She was born on Dec. 19. 1926 in Wilmot, the daughter of the late John and Grace (Gardner) Eastman.
She was a devoted and loving mother, as well as owner of Ruth M. Maddox & Co., an accounting office.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Mann of Goddard, Judy and husband,
Steve Shryock of Augusta, Vicki and husband, Dr. Scott Brooks of Wichita, Sandy and husband, Matt Heit of Overland Park; sisters, Leona Jordan of Arkansas City, Janice McGowan of Enid, Okla.., Louise Stevenson of Winfield; sis-ter-in-law, Hilma Webber of Winfield.
Grandchildren are Jan and Danny Frazier, Brett and Collette Primm, Robert and Sue Mann, Brent and Sherry Shryock, Shannon and Chad McDaniel. Adam Shryock, Casey Heit, Nick Heit, Tyler
and Lisa Brooks, Aaron Brooks; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jeff and Joey Frazier, Blake and Abi Primm, Taylor and Jaden Shryock, Kylie McDaniel, Lauren and Libby Brooks.
Memorials established with Total Homecare and Hospice and the Augusta First Christian Church.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Akron Cemetery in rural Cowley County.
Other survivors include: daughter, Debbie Gazaway of Wichita; twin brother, Jim Ireton of Colo.; brother, Bob Ireton of Winfield; two grandchildren.

Carolyn Rose Kendall, 67, Wichita, sister of Richard Breed, Jr. of Augusta, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004.

Wilburn Robberson, 74, Enid, Okla., retired fire chief civil service at McConnell Air Force Base and assistant fire chief at Boeing Aircraft, grandfather of Jana Barnes of Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
His funeral service was held today, Jan. 20, at Willow View United Methodist Church and burial in Corzine Cemetery at Corbin, Kan.
Other survivors are: wife, Martha of the home; children, Belinda Robberson of Wichita, Michael Robberson of Fort Myers, Fla., Tracey Small of Caldwell; 14 grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.
Jan. 24, at the Greensburg First United Methodist Church.

James Dale “Jimmie” Ropp, 73, Desert Hot Springs, Calif., formerly of Augusta, retired master electrician, died Saturday, % Jan. 3, 2004.
A service of remembrance will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
He was born in El Dorado, attended elementary schools in El Dorado and Augusta, and graduated from Augusta High School in 1951.
Survivors are: sons, Doug Ropp of Ft. Scott, Craig Ropp of Warrensburg, Mo., Todd Ropp of Gresham, Ore.; daughters, Laura Dalton of Parsons, Sally Gifford of Gresham, Ore., Paula McKay of McGill, Nev., Kaitlynn Ropp of Ottumwa, Iowa; sister, JoAnn Royse of Wichita; brother, Dick McDonald of Albuquerque, N.M.; niece, Brandy McDonald of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephew, Kevin Royse of Wichita; 14 grandchildren.
