Clyde Swafford
Clyde L. Swafford, 90, Augusta, retired Mobil Oil equipment operator, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.
His graveside service was held Monday, Feb. 16, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Survivors include: wife, Dena R. Swafford; sons and daughters-in-law. Dale and Jartis Swafford of Augusta, Jack and Barbara Swafford of El Dorado; daughters and sons-in-law, Billie and Randy Unkel of Ferndale, Wash., Ruth and Cliff Pyatt of Festus, Mo., Barbara and Everett Tennison of Tracy, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta handled the arrangements.
Sharon Sue Lanier
Sharon Sue Lanier, 61, Rapid City, S.D., mother of Steve Lanier of Augusta, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Ministry of Jesus World Outreach Center in Augusta.
Other survivors are: husband, Robert; sons, Robert Garner of Wichita, Chris Lanier of Rapid City; daughter, Mary Lanier of Rapid City; sister, Dee Schumacher, Rapid City; brothers, Pierre Rousseau of San Jose, Calif., Neil Rousseau, N.M., Terry Rousseau, Ed Rousseau, both of Farmingdale, N.M., Dale Rousseau of Salt Lake City, Utah; and eight grandchildren.
Vann Funeral Services in 'Rapid City, S.D. has charge of the arrangements.
Robert Davis
Robert (Bob) Davis, 48, Wichita, Rick’s Bar BQ employee, brother of Mary Beth Pierce of Augusta died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Lakeview Funeral Chapel in Wichita.
Other survivors include: mother, Alice Coles; sister, Patti Rohrback; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be sent to Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Research.

‘Gene’ Pond
Edwin Eugene “Gene” Pond, 72, Leon, retired mechanic and machinist, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.
His funeral service was held yesterday at the Leon United Methodist Church. Cremation preceded the service.
Survivors include: wife, Ann; son, Mike Pond of Liberal; daughters, Julie Bowman, Mary Pond, both of Leon, Laura Burner of Latham; brother, Jerry Pond of Sedgwick; sisters, Sue Morris of Overland Park, Linda Johnson of Branson, Mo.; eight grandchildren.
Memorials in his memory may be sent to the American Heart Association or Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado, who had charge of the arrangements.
Andy R. Shank
Andy R. Shank, 76, Peabody, father of Jeanne Pierce of Augusta, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.
His funeral service was held this afternoon at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
Other survivors include: daughters, Andra Kessner of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Glenna Sattler of Peabody; sister, Betty Coleman of Redwood, City, Calif., and 10 grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
Charles R. Jordan
Charles Ralph Jordan, 77, Wellington, retired Co-op grain elevator manager, brother of Muriel Nixson of Douglass, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.
Funeral service was held this morning at the Church of God in Caldwell.
Other survivors include: sons, Randy Jordan of North Newton, Gary Jordan of Wichita; daughters, Karla Weikal and Karen Jordan, both of Wellington; brother, Lloyd Jordan of Wichita; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association Sunflower Chapter.
