Holice ‘Virginia Seglem

Former Augusta resident Holice “Virginia” Seglem, 79, Overland Park, sister of Anna Haaga of Douglass, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, at the Amos Family Chapel in Shawnee.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the chapel. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1925 in Independence to Ralph and Jennie (Daybread) Grady.
She graduated in 1942 from Augusta High School and married Knute Seglem on June 3, 1943. They made their home in the Kansas City area.
Mrs. Anderson retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989, where she worked in personnel at the Shawnee Mission Branch.
She was a member of the Eastern Star of Overland Park Trail Blazers.
She is survived by: daughter, Jennie Van Sickle and husband, Randy of Overland Park; sons, Larry Seglem and wife, Kathy of Bradenton, Fla., Mike Seglem and wife, Darolyn of Lake Ozark, Mo.; sister, Hazel Gruver of Plano, Texas; brother, Bill Grady of Booneville, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey, John, Wesley, Jill, Todd, Adam, Tessa, Taylor, Tanner, Troy; great-grandchild, Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, Francis Grady and sister, Patricia Jones.
Arrangements are under the direction of Amos Family Funeral Home of Shawnee.

Kendall Dale Cox

Kendall Dale Cox, 5-day-old infant son of Brad and Tammy Cox of Andover, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004.
There will be a private family graveside service.
A service of remembrance will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
Other survivors include: twin brother, Keenan Dean Cox; grandparents, Gene and Pat Cox of Wichita (Andover), Don and Loweta Finlay of Augusta; great-grandparents, Naoma Finlay of Augusta, Betty Dean Pinon of El Dorado; step great-grandmother, Florence Dean of Wichita; uncles, J.M.Cox and wife, Susan of Andover, Eric Finlay of Augusta; aunt, Teresa Finlay of Wichita; cousin, Chance Cox of Andover. He was preceded in death by aunt Lisa Ann Cox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cox Family Fund c/o Intrust Bank.
Headley Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements.

Ava M. Metzger

Ava Marie Metzger, 78, El Dorado, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Augusta Church of Christ.
Dennis Schnelle of Meade, Lyle Schnelle of Apple Valley, Calif., Allen Schnelle of Medicine Lodge; sisters, Ethel McDaniel of Medicine Lodge, Marguerite Schnelle of Wichita; two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Marguerite (Stone)
Schnelle, brother, John Schnelle, and sister, Willa Mae Magruder.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Church of Christ.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home of El Dorado has charge of the arrangements.

Leroy D. Potter

Leroy Dean Potter, 76, Augusta, retired Beechcraft shears operator and former Santa Fe Railroad employee, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside Funeral Home.
Survivors include: son, Steve Potter of Augusta; companion, Delores
Hockenberry of Augusta; sister, Jean Luper of Westville, Okla.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchil-
