Cecil L. Turner
Cecil Lloyd Turner, 81, Augusta, died on Monday, March 1, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, at the Augusta First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, March 3, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
He was born on July 12, 1922 in LaCrosse to George Walter Turner and Mary Kathryn LaVoney Turner.
On June 22,1947 he married Dolores Larsen in Augusta.
He was the owner of Cecil’s Jewelry in Augusta for over 40 years. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church and also active in the Augusta Community Theatre, Rotary Club and many other civic organizations.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Cheri Turner of Wichita; daughter and son-in-law, Deidre and Donny Howard of Owasso, Okla.; daughter, Andrea Turner of Kansas City, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Kathleen Turner of Lawrence; four grandchildren, Joshua and Sara Turner, and Gavin and Trenton Howard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores in 1987; sisters, Maxine, Mildred, Louise, Kathleen, Wynona; brothers, Bus, Wes, Pat, and Bobby.
Memorial donations may be given to First United Methodist Church of Augusta or Wesley Medical Trauma Center in Wichita.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Henry Berndsen

Henry J. Berndsen, 92, Hutchinson, farmer, stock-man, brother of Simon Berndsen of Douglass, died Monday, March 1, 2004.
His Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South Hutchinson.
Other survivors include: wife, Eileen of Hutchinson; son, Dennis J. of Hutchinson; sisters, Laura Call and Josephine Green, both of Wichita; two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of South Hutchinson.
Elliott Mortuary of Hutchinson is handling the arrangements.

Esther E. Ross

Esther E. Ross, 76, Wichita, retired Seneca State Bank employee, sister of Rosella Thissen of Augusta, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004.
Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday; service at 10 a.m. Saturday, both at St. Anne Catholic Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: husband, Max of the home; daughter, Patricia Kisner of Washington, DC; brothers, Bob Gillen of Hutchinson, Fred Gillen of Kingman; sisters, Catherine Lauener of North Canton, Ohio, Lorraine Yalong of Fresno, Calif., Virginia McKenna of Ft. Scott; one granddaughter.
Memorial established with International Essential Tremor Foundation, Lenexa,
DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

George Noce

George Kent Noce, 72, Emporia, retired Santa Fe engineer, father of Clifford Noce of Augusta, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery Patio Garden in Wichita.
Other survivors are: son, Alan of Tomah, Wis.; daughters, Nancie Noce of Mission, Julie Noce of Olathe; brother, Gene; four grandchildren.
Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home of Emporia is handling the arrangements.
