Ernie D. Norton

Ernie D. Norton, 93, Augusta, retired Mobil Oil operations shift supervisor, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening at Headley Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Norton was born in Haviland on Feb. 14, 1911. On Dec. 22,1950 he married Nellie 0. Salisbury.
Survivors include: son, Scott Norton and wife, Marcia of Rose Hill; daughters, Connie Peters and husband, Pete of Augusta, Betty Sue Howe of Cherry Valley, Calif.; step sons, Ed Palmer and wife, Carol of Wichita, Kenneth “Bud” Palmer and wife, Patricia of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; brothers, Vernon of Farmington, Mo., Norman of Ore.; sisters, Goldie Hardcastle of Siloam Springs, Ark., Violet Lytle of
Ore.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie; brothers, Otis, Alvin and Lonnie; sister, Alice and grandchildren, Rick Biggs and Deborah Howe.
Memorials suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

Lucretia Tillery

Lucretia Violet Tillery, 70, Augusta, retired nurse’s aide, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004.
There will be a private family service.
Her survivors include: her children, Jackie Rogge, Violet Hein, Wesley Wooderson, Elmer Tillery, Pratt Tillery, and Tessie Moots; step children, Gay Comber, Jenny Tillery and Gorden Tillery; sister, Martha Grose; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lois Thomas and daughters, Virginia Lee Oakley and Lois Ann Tillery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Watson Funeral Home of Wichita.

Ralph Brankel

Ralph G. Brankel, 72, Rock, retired auto clave operator for Boeing Aircraft, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004.
Graveside service was held this morning at Stalter Cemetery in Rock.
Survivors are: son, Ralph Brankel of Rock; daughter, Darlene Brankel of Winfield; companion, Margaret Downey of Rock; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
Memorials to the American Diabetes and American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hilyard-Smith Mortuary of Douglass.

William J. Alexander

William J. Alexander, 72, Haysville, retired Lear Jet employee, father of Pam Kretz of Augusta, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors are: sons, Ed Paschall and Larry Wilson, both of Wichita; six grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
