Vivian J. Simpson
Vivian J. Simpson, 81, Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at First Baptist Church in Augusta. Interment will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
Visitation until 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Brainerd on Aug. 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Floyd and Hazel Kate (Waite) Bachelder.
On Oct. 16, 1949 she married Charles Simpson at the Palmyra Baptist Church, north of Benton.
She co-owned and operated Western Auto and Simpson Furniture together with her husband for 36 years.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by a son, Philip and his wife, Sherri Simpson of El Dorado; daughter, Janelle Warren of Towanda; sisters, Harriett Corbin of Andover and Doris Young of Cheney; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Jeff and Shiloh.
Family suggests donations to First Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or Total Homecare & Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.
Dean Moore Jr.
G. Dean Moore, Jr., 44, Missoula, Mont., oil field roughneck, formerly of Augusta, died Sept. 16, 2004.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Augusta First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are: children, Lisa Beach of Aurora, Colo., and Keith Moore of Augusta; parents, Movita and Charles Forrester of Augusta; sisters, DeRonna Moore and Denice Maness of Augusta; stepsisters, Lisa Grist of Upland, Calif., Linna Buser of San Diego, Calif., and Cheryl Alley of Augusta; stepbrother, Kim Forrester of Augusta. Five grandchildren also survive.
His father, Gary D. Moore preceded him in death.

Belinda Kay Ferguson
Belinda Kay Ferguson, 53, El Dorado, Beech Aircraft and Raytheon electrical technician, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado. Interment will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include: husband, Mike of the home; son, Troy and her mother, Helen Knott of El Dorado; brothers, Lyle Riggs of Madison, and Pat Riggs of Augusta; sisters, Mary Snyder of El Dorado and Janie Lambert of Billingham, Wash.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial has been established with the Salvation Army.
Contributions may be left with Kirby-Morris Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements.
Glenn D. Smitherman
Glenn D. Smitherman, 85, Wichita, oil producer, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Survivors are: son, Bill Smitherman of Rhode Island; sister, Karolyn Smitherman of Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chalmer and Hazel (Fourday) Smitherman; wife, Helen and brother Leon.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
