Pauline “Paula” Shirkey-Miller, 52, Wichita, Raytheon, project manager, formerly of Augusta, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004.
Funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Survivors include: husband, James of Wichita; daughters, Kim Linn of Madison, ILL., Clistie Gilreath of Wagoner, Okla., Kolette Sollberger of Wichita; step son, David Miller of Topeka; sisters, Betty Breshears of Mulvane and Mable Doll of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren.
Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita.
Geraldine B. Wallace
Geraldine B. Wallace, 76, Wichita, homemaker, mother and mother-in-law of Linda and George Lawson of Augusta, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004.
Funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita.
Survivors are: husband, Allen; daughters, Judy Maple of Sandpoint, Idaho, Stephanie Crouch of Andover; son, Steve Wallace of Wichita; sister, Lori Davis of Andover; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with American Diabetes Association.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary East of Wichita is handling arrangements.
Jesse W. Darter
Jesse Wilford Darter, 93, Douglass, farmer and retired Boeing employee, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Douglass United Methodist Church.
Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass.
Survivors include: son, Larry Darter of Douglass; daughters, Janet Andrist of Wichita and Genevieve Hood of Douglass; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera and son, Fred.
Memorials to Douglass Senior Center and Douglass United Methodist Church.
Arrangements under direction of Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass.
Rosetta Marie Wakefield
Rosetta Marie Wakefield, 86, Augusta, homemaker, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004.
There will be a private graveside service at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was born on June 19, 1918 in Cedarvale, the daughter of Dennis and Gladys (Myers) Hawkins.
Survivors include: daughter, Shirley and husband, Ross Lietzke of Augusta; granddaughter, Sabrina and husband, Mike Wilson of Ashburn, Va.; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Raymie Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wakefield, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Preschool.
Dunsford Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
