Jessie Patterson

Jessie B. Patterson, 85, Augusta, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10; chapel service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, both at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1919, in Reese, the daughter of Ray and Mae (Ayler) Malcom. She was a homemaker, retired holstein dairy farmer, and worked at the Benton
Western Auto Store. The loving and supportive mother and grandmother enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting, making wedding cakes and especially making dolls.
In high school, Jessie was an outstanding basketball star at Andover High School and in 1954 she was chosen by Kansas State University as 4-H Leader of the Year.
Survivors are: sons, Clare Jr. and wife, Helen of Apache Junction, Ariz., Dalton and wife, Sonja of El Dorado, Allen and wife, Barbara of Augusta; sister, Ellen Christmore of Wichita; grandchildren, Tony, Cary, Robin, Cory, and Todd Patterson; great-grandchildren, Candace Haworth, Kacy, Courtney, Cale, Brandt, A.J., and Aydan Patterson, Breeana Rizzi, Brandi and Natalie Biggart; great-great-grandchildren, Skyler and Savannah Rizzi, Taylor Biggart.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Clare; daughter, Clarice; sister, Lena Sifford; brother, Jack Malcom.
Suggested memorials are Augusta Historical Museum, Augusta Community Caring Center, or Augusta Senior Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford Funeral Home.

Vickie L. Cook, 54, Augusta, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Culbertson-Smith Mortuary of Wichita.

John Robert Gilley Sr.

John Robert Gilley Sr., 77, Wichita, retired from Miroflex Sign Co., father of Pamela Patten of Augusta, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita. Burial with military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita.
Other survivors include: wife, Violet of the home; sons, John R. Jr. of Wichita, Donald of Bacliff, Texas; daughters, Anna Crane of Cherokee, Debra Threet of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles of Kingston, Tenn.; sisters, Beverly Chamber, Dana Riley, both of Tupelo, Miss., Vesta Scholes of Edmond, Okla.
Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
Hillside Funeral Home East of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.
Michael R. Gillespie

Michael R. “Mick” Gillespie, 63, Moline, retired KG&E lineman, father of Stacy Fouts of Douglass, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004.
Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, and funeral mass at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline.
Other survivors are: wife, Shirley; sons, Sheldon of Moline and Tony of Wichita; mother, June Gillespie of Moline; brothers, George of Moline, Ed and Rick, both of Wichita, Jim and Kevin, both of Mulvane; sisters, Carolyn Wilson and Joan Welborn, both of Wichita, Cleo Livergood of Texas, and
Connie O’Neill of Fredonia; seven grandchildren.
Memorials established with the St. Mary’s Altar Society and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard is handling the arrangements.
