Virginia Lee Barr
Virginia Lee Barr, 75, Wichita, homemaker, mother and mother-in-law of Cheryl and Lester Boykin, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.
Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday; funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, both at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.
Other survivors include: husband, Leon of the home; son, Gary Barr of Mulvane; daughter, Christina Maze of Wichita; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Clary, both of Wichita; one
granddaughter; five grandsons; seven greatgrandchildren.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
Wanda Delene Allen
Wanda Delene Allen, 73, Overland Park, retired teacher, step mother of Rick Allen of Douglass, died on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Haven. Burial will be at Laurel Cemetery in Haven.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. this evening, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Van Campen Funeral Home in Haven.
Other survivors are: son, David Allen of Olathe; step daughter, Nikie Beliveau of Wichita; brother, Myron Bernitz of Tupelo, Miss.; two grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, Sunflower Chapter in Wichita.
Van Campen Funeral Home of Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
Fred Edwin Lipprand
Fred Edwin Lipprand, 96, Russell, USD 407 custodian and farmer, father of Karen Rhyne of Augusta, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005.
A private memorial service was held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russell. Inurnment was at the Russell Cemetery.
Other survivors are: wife, Lydia; daughters, Jane M. Keel of Guymon, Okla., Doloris M. Kaufman of Newton, Sylvia S. Mudd of Russell; sons, Donald C. Lipprand of Russell, Kenneth F. Lipprand of Hays; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory of Salina.
Lawrence E. ‘Pete’ Marshall
Lawrence E .’’Pete” Marshall, 79, Virginia Beach, Va., United States Marine Corps veteran and formerly of Augusta, died on Friday, March 4, 2005.
A private graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
He is survived by: wife, Amanda Viola “Billie” Marshall of Virginia Beach; son, Lawrence Eugene Marshall II of Richmond, Va.; daughters, Susan Laurie Morris of Portsmouth, Va. and Cheryl Pharr of Hayes, Va.; sisters, Marcille Tuttle of Augusta and Lucille Hand
of Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; sisters-in-law, Donna Marshall of Augusta and Patricia Marshall of Modesto, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Robert Eugene and Lillie Ellen Sutton Marshall; brothers, Vernie William Marshall and Edward Joseph Marshall.
Memorial donations may be made to Ocean Park Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station No. 1, 3769 Stratford Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
Arrangements were under the direction of Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home of Virginia Beach, Va.

Helen Estella Kahler, 80, Derby, mother of Judith Kay Nicks of Augusta, died Monday, March 7, 2005
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, Okla.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Other survivors are: son, Howard W. Jr. of Marion; daughter, Teresa M. Kahler of Chanute; 14 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home of Bartlesville, Okla.
