Kenneth D. Parry

Kenneth D. Parry, 77, Augusta, retired farmer and City of Augusta power plant operator, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. on Friday at Douglass Cemetery.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass.
Survivors include: wife, Betty; daughter, Cinda Hosey of Goddard; sisters, Marjorie Helm and Donna Smith, both of Towanda; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He' was preceded in death by a son, Alan and great-granddaughter, Chelsie.
Memorials to the Douglass Senior Center, P.O.Box 362, Douglass, 67037, and Faith Hospice, 7804 E. Funston, Suite 203, Wichita, 67207.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass.

Meredith D. Shryock

Meredith G. Shryock, 78, Gresham, Ore., retired U.S. Marine Corps, major and brother of Sam Shryock of Augusta, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.
His funeral service was held today at Emmanuel Bible Church in Salem, Ore. Interment at Pratum Cemetery.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
He was born on July 10, 1926 in Lymon, Okla, to Charles Franklin and Laura Jean (Poindexter) Shryock. He married Constance Hammond on Aug. 4, 1956 in Marion, Ohio. During his 21 years in the U.S. Marine Corps he helped establish orphanages on an island off Okinawa. He directed a community center in Galion, Ohio, operated a daycare center in Mt. Vernon,. Ohio, worked with the Philippine government to place children for adoption, taught
kindergarten at Sunshine School in Salem, Ore., and joined Cadence
International to operate Hospitality Houses for service people in Italy, Germany and Pensacola, Fla.
Other survivors are: wife, Connie of Gresham, Ore.; daughters, Deanne Boesel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Danielle Bressel of
Gresham, Ore., and Deborah Burgett of Pensacola, Fla.; sons, Douglas of Springfield, Va., Darren of Stayton, Ore., and Derek of Virginia Beach, Va.; 12 grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Cadence International, P.O.Box 1268, Englewood, CO, 80150.
Bateman Carroll Funeral Home of Gresham, Ore. handled the funeral arrangements.

Madeline Skaer Agard Davis, 94, Augusta, passed away Monday, April 4,2005.
Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday; funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, both at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Pittsburg State College. She married Roy Agard on Sept. 10, 1928. She married Donald Richard Davis on Nov. 21, 1947. She worked as a payroll clerk at Mobil, retiring in 1966. Madeline was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star for 50 years and an associate member of Book Club.
She is survived by: son, Gary and wife, Norma Agard of Augusta; step son, Larry Davis of Fla.; brother, Dean Skaer of Augusta;
grandchildren, Garrie Kancewick, Kay Powell, Jean Morgan, Lisa Wells, and Mark Agard; step grandchildren, Mikki Hall, Scott Davis, Todd Davis; 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and brother* Dowel) Skaer of Augusta, Moyle Skaer of Pittsburg, and Arthur Skaer of Wichita; sister, Gladys Dyer of Tulsa, Okla.
Memorial established with the Augusta Historical Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel.
