Father Of Augustan Dies At 90
Henry Dempewolf, 90, Blackwell, Okla., father of Augustan Rose Ridder, died at the St. Joseph Medical Center there Saturday.
A Christian wake and rosary service will begin at 7:30 this evening at the Roberts Funeral Home in Blackwell. A funeral mass will be conducted by Rev. Cletus Bash at the St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Memorials to the Center of Family Love, Box 245, Ocarchie, Okla., 73762 have been suggested.
Dempewolf was an army veteran of World War I and the retired owner-operator of Dempewolf Transfer and Storage at Blackwell.
He was born Aug. 6, 1893 at Dresden, Kan.
He married the former Rose E. Schieferecke Nov. 24, 1921 at Westphalia. She survives.
Mr. and Mrs. Dempewolf resided at Dresden until 1941 and lived a while in Moline, Kan., before relocating to Oklahoma. He started the transfer and storage business in 1948 and retired May 3, 1979.
Dempewolf was a member of the Blackwell Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by four other daughters: Irene
Stegman and Ethel Boxa, both of Blackwell, Mildred Sauer of LaCrosse, and Mary Cullop of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Joe Dempewolf of Ponca City, Okla.; a brother, George Dempewolf of Hoxie, Kan., 42 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
‘Mom’ Bailey Dies At 95
Mabel “Mom” Bailey, 95, El Dorado, mother of Grace Robertson of Douglass, died Saturday at an El Dorado nursing home.
Her services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Bill Longman will officiate and burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 17, 1887 in Codel to Jacob and Ada Dillon Randall.
She married Charles E. Bailey Oct. 5, 1904 in Oregon, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1963.
She ran the filling station and cafe at Pickrell Comer before her retirement.
She was a member of the El Dorado First Christian Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Golden Age Club.
Other survivors include three sons, Charles of Salina., H.H. and W.I., both of El Dorado; two other daughters, Susan Hall and Tiny Malan, both of El Dorado; a brother, Joe Randall of Council Bluff, Iowa; four
sisters, Estella Montgomery of Fontana, Calif., Iva Burton of Bartlesville, Okla., Evelyn Stratton and Helen McGoyne, both of Olympia, Wash.; 24 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.

W.E. Murray Dies At 63
William Eugene Murray, 63, Mankato, father of Tery Standley of Augusta, died Saturday.
His service was at 10:30 a.m. today at the Kramer Funeral Home in Mankato.
He was a former star mail route carrier and a former Massey Ferguson mechanic and part department employee.
Other survivors include daughters, Pat Powell of St. Peters, Mo., Elaine Thomas of Mankato; a stepson, Wayne Rideout of Searcy, Ark.; stepdaughter, JoAnne Moore of Searcy, Ark.; brothers Aaron of Mankato, Merlin “Jerry” of Coffeyville, Charles Robert of Colby; sisters, Virginia Lange of Mankato, Eunice Hughes of Mankato; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Sister Dies In Accident
Donna Jane Worthington, 18, Cherryvale, sister of Mary Randall of Douglass, died Friday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
The accident also claimed the life of her husband, Thomas W. Worthington, 18, and their one-year-old daughter, April Dawn.
Services for the family will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ball Cemetery in Nowata.
Other survivors of Mrs. Worthington are her mother, Dorothy Lynch of Rock; brothers, Gary Sanders of New Salem, Steven, Bill, both of Winfield, and sisters, Dorothy Tobar of Abilene and Mabel Riff of Burbank, Okla.
