Father Dies In El Dorado
Otto Golobay, 81, El Dorado, father of Gary Golobay of Augusta, died Monday at Knutson Manor nursing home in El Dorado.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Ernest Clark of Park City will officiate and burial will be at Walnut Valley Memorial Park at El Dorado.
He was born Sept. 29, 1901 in Buffalo to Joseph and Inez Kahl Golobay.
He married Katherine Swilley July 23, 1933 in Fredonia. She died Dec. 20, 1968.
He was a retired Skelly employee.
Other survivors are two daughters, Marlene Patty of El Dorado and Muriel Mace of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Ed Golobay of Lancaster, Calif., and two sisters, Genevieve Rogers of El Dorado and Nadine Pottorff of Canon City, Colo; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jane Bennet Dies At 62
L. Jane Bennett, 62, Eldred, Pa., formerly of Augusta, died Monday after a lengthy illness.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Olean, N.Y. Burial will be in the Allegheny Cemetery in New York.
She was a resident of Augusta from 1954 to 1961.
She was a member and past secretary of the Augusta American Legion Auxiliary and a past Fifth District Secretary for the Kansas American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley W., of the home; four sons, Peter of Waterford, Pa., Rex and Donald of Elred, and Lew of Alexanderia, Va.; a daughter, Anne Morris of Elred; 10 grandchildren and her brothers and sisters.
Father Dies In Newton
G.H. “Pop” Ferguson, 75, Halstead, father of Timothy Ferguson of Leon, died Monday at the Axtell Crhistian Hospital in Newton.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Halstead Cemetery. Rev. John H. Hastings will officiate
He was born March 29, 1908 in Latham to Oscar John and Hattie Ferguson.
He married Patricia J. Legan. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, James of Rose Hill, George at home; stepson, Curtis Balzer of Topeka; stepdaughters, Janice Cole of Wichita, Connie Humes of McPherson; brothers, Merritt of Wichita, M.V. of Girard; a half sister, Fern Brannon of Enid, Okla., and two grandchildren.
The Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead is in charge of arrangements.
Stepmother Dies At 88
Edna Otillia Mead, 88, Richmond, Texas, stepmother of Grace Castor of Douglass, died Sunday.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. today at the Wichita Park Cemetery.
Other survivors include a son, James of Wichita and daughters, Wanda Mae Pittman of Houston and Betty Jo Jones
of Manitou Springs, Colo.
Cochran Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Brother Dies In Colorado
Amos J. Cook, 59, Denver, Colo., brother of Esther Lane and Phillip Cook, both of Augusta, died Saturday, Sept. 3.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Kechi cemetery.
Other survivors include brothers, David and Daniel and Samuel, all of Denver, and a sister, Elizabeth Wherrell of Newton.
Sister Dies In Montana
Carmond Maxine Edgington, 59, Grenola, sister of Sheriden and Alvin Perkins of Augusta, died Monday in Billings, Mont.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Thurday at the Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Michael Breth will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
She was born Oct. 22, 1912 in Graham County to Thomas and Elsie Falladay Perkins.
She married Clifford Edgington Feb. 18, 1942 in Graham County. He survives.
