Colleen Frances Sacks Essex
Colleen Frances Sacks (Lowe) Essex, 94, Douglass, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21 2005.
Graveside interment was held today, Sept. 26, at Douglass Cemetery.
Survivors include: step daughters, Michele Gabay of West Hollywood, Calif, and Rayma Essex Korber of Goddard; numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass.
Darlene Kimbro
Darlene M. Kimbro, 66, Towanda, mother and mother-in-law of Tammy and Bob Brundege of Augusta, died on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005.
Service was held this morning at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.
Her survivors are: husband, Don; son, Kim of Colwich; brothers, Glenn Fetters of Newton, Delbert Fetters of Towanda, and Terry Fetters of
El Dorado; sisters, Thelma Royston of Albion, Mich., Barbara Gillis, Shirley Chastain, Charlotte Lea, all of El Dorado and Betty Newmaster of Independence; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may go to Susan B. Allen Memorial Cancer Center.
Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado had charge of, the arrangements.
Edna Burnett
Edna Burnett, 92, Augusta, formerly of El Dorado, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Mackenzie Brooke Verdon
Mackenzie Brooke Verdon, infant daughter of Robert and Tammy Verdon of Augusta, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2005.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. this evening at Metro East Baptist Church in Wichita. Graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, at Kensington Gardens Cemetery in Wichita.
Other survivors include: sister, Isabelle Verdon; grandparents, George W. III and Sharon Verdon of Uvalde, Texas, Joe and Evva Lou Woolridge, and Carolyn B. Lamirand of Carrizo Springs, Texas; great-grandparents, George W. Verdon, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Patricia Berry of Uvalde, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Cameron.
Memorials may go to Choices Medical Clinic.

Wreathea Hicks
Wreathea Geneva Hicks, 85, Prescott, formerly of Augusta, retired teacher, died on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Fort Scott. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott.
Wreathea Hicks was born on Dec. 28, 1919 in Solomon, the daughter of Chester Arthur and Elizabeth Pearl Tackwell Hicks.
She received her masters degree from both the University of Kansas and Emporia State University. Her focus was English, speech, drama, forensics and debate. She began her teaching career in one room school houses in North Central Kansas and went on to teach in Burlington, Augusta, Coffeyville Community College, Emporia State University, and finished her career as a Recognized College Professor at Peru State University in Peru, Neb.
She is survived by son, Rev. William Worcester and his wife, Joyce of Hiawatha; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two infant brothers.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association and contributions may be sent in care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, 66701.

Surviving sister, Mickey Foster Boswell was omitted from the obituary (Gazette Sept. 22)
of her brother, Jess Louie Foster, who was formerly of Augusta and passed away on Sept. 13, 2005.
Shirley Dailey
Shirley O. (Cody) Dailey, 75, Wichita, formerly of Augusta and niece of Hazel Mauk of Augusta, died on Sept. 29, 2005.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Riverside Christian Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: her husband, Bill; sons, Dr. C.R. Adams of Norfolk, Neb., Donald Dailey of Wichita, and Edward Dailey of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson.
