Patricia Hoge

Former Augusta resident Patricia Hoge, 54, Pittsburgh, Pa., died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 in Pittsburgh.
Her funeral mass will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Dunsford
Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. James Church.
Hoge was a retired waitress at the former Lehr’s Restaurant here. She worked more than 10 years at the restaurant.
She was a loving and caring mother and “G-amma’ who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her love inspired others. Although she will be missed, her spirit and love will continue to touch our lives.
Survivors include her father, Herman Hoge of Augusta, daughter Jill
Kucharski (Christopher) of Pittsburgh, son Phillip Humphries (Jasmine) of Haysville, stepdaughters Crystal Newberry, Tiffany Newberry, Amber Newberry, all of Augusta, sisters Vickie Behrens (Terry) of Casa Grande, Ariz., Sandra Endicott of Augusta, brothers Gary Hoge (Vicki) of Oklahoma, Glenn Hoge (Lisa) of Woodward, Okla., Bernie Hoge (Brenda) of Augusta, many caring nieces, nephews, and friends. Also surviving are two dogs, Mitzi and Abigail, a bird, Tequila, and Mr. Fish.
She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma and brothers Joseph and Richard.
The family requests memorials be given to the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, 905 West Street, Fourth Floor, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15221.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Flo Ellen Simon

Flo Ellen Simon, 85, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at the LakePoint Nursing Center in Augusta.
Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Deaver officiating. Internment will be in the White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
Visitation will be possible from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta. Family members will be present from 3 to 5 p.m.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Service Sunday School
Class, and the Martha Circle of American Baptists Women.
Simon was a retired beautician who had a special love for flowers.
She was born Nov. 15, 1919 at Liberal to Iris and Ward B. Simon. Her parents and sisters Wilda Miller and Leona preceded her in death.
Ms. Simon leaves cousins Joyce and Donovan Moore of Wichita, Barbara and Edwin Little of Augusta, dorothy and Bill Hamilton of Texas, Dora and Charles Greek of Arizona, nephews Channing Myers of Indiana, Rex Myers of Connecticut, and Joel Miller of California, nieces Cheryl Myers of Indiana, Carolyn Shaver of Maryland, Judy Carriker and Susan Gardner, both of California, as well as a number of great nephews and great nieces.
Arrangements are by the Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.

Rex Pate

Rex Pate, 88, Arkansas City, auto mechanic, father and father-in-law of David
V. and Patsy Pate of Augusta, died on Sunday, Oct. 16,2005.
His graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Other survivors include: wife, Emiline Pate of the home; sons, Robert W. Pate, Donald E. Pate, and Steven
W. Pate, all of Arkansas City; half-sister, Anita Warner of MO.; 17 grandchildren; and 42 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert C. and Ollie Maye Reed Pate; step mother, Maude Ainsworth Pate; brother, Guy E. Pate; sister, Prudence Leahadell Owsley, and Marion Shell.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Pencil Box Fund of The Shelton Beaty American Legion Post 18, Ladies Auxiliary and contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Hawks Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
