Dale Lee Houchin

Dale Lee Houchin, 51, Augusta, USD 402 custodian and United States Navy veteran, died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2005.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel in Fredonia. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7p.m. today.
In addition to his wife, Zanda, he is survived by: daughters, Michelle Dixon of Independence, Crystal Houchin of Augusta, and Allison Houchin of Ansbach, Germany; son, Kevin Houchin of Leon; sister, Alice Eshbaugh of Hutchinson; brothers, Alonzo Houchin of Fredonia, Jimmie Houchin of Carlsbad, N.M., William Houchin of Oak Harbor, Wash., Larry Houchin and Jerry Houchin, both of Severy; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and four brothers; Glen Edgar, Darrell Dean, Wilber Harvey, and Ray Enlo.
A memorial has been established with the
American Diabetes Association and may be sent to the funeral home. Timmons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 168, Fredonia, 66736, is in charge of the arrangements.

Esther L. Pressnell

Pressnell, 71, Augusta, died on Monday, Oct. 3, 2005. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Esther was born in
Wilmot on Jan. 19, 1934, the daughter of Robert E. Groom and Laura Anna (Moore). She was a homemaker and retired from Getty Gas as a secretary after 17 years. She enjoyed* gardening, ranching, and most of all, spending time with her family. On Nov. 22, 1951, she married Vernon Pressnell in Wichita.
She is survived by: her husband, Vernon; sons, Robert Pressnell and his wife, June, Richard Pressnell and his wife, Debra, Ronald Pressnell and his wife, Paula, all of Augusta, Roger Pressnell and his wife, Joyce, Rodney Pressnell and his wife, Rita,
both of Leon; daughter, Rita Ramsey and her husband, Bob of Augusta; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roberta Ann (Groom) Boucher.
Memorials to Total Homecare & Hospice or Victory in the Valley.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta has direction of the arrangements.

Construction worker Richard Wagner, 44 died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005
His funeral arrangements are pending with Wilson Funeral Home in Madison.

Gary P. Becker

Gary P. Becker, 70, Augusta, retired Beech Aircraft computer systems analyst, artist, writer, and pilot, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005.
There will be no funeral service.
He is survived by: his wife, Laurel of Augusta; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Gail Becker of Cheney, Will and Dawn Becker of Bulverde, Texas; sister, Ann Casey of Great Bend; cousin, Willis Henning of Salina; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Luke, Aaron, Anna, Audra, Bryan,
and Josh.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Melvin W. Becker; brother, Gene E. Becker; mother, Mary A. Henning Becker Smith; and step father, Lance Smith.
Memorials may go to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Augusta Public Library.
Arrangements are under the direction of, Headley, Funeral Chapel’ of Augusta.
