Keith D. Miller
Keith D. Miller, 85, Bethany, Okla., formerly of Augusta, died on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Towanda United Methodist Church of Christ, with
interment in Towanda City Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 17, 1920 to James and Josephine Miller in Midian, an oil boom town near El Dorado. During high school and junior college, he participated in basketball, baseball, and track — high and low hurdles were his specialty. He competed locally and at the Kansas Relays. On Oct. 11, 1943, Keith married his high school sweetheart, Margie Ann Hess. They were married in Vancouver, Wash, and celebrated their 61st anniversary last year.
Keith was a World War II veteran, having served with the 276th Infantry Regiment, 70th Division, which landed in Marseille, France in December, 1944. His unit was involved in ground operations in the European Theatre during the Rhineland Campaign, where he received the Bronze Star. His unit was attached to General George Patton’s Third Army and was near Berlin when the war ended. Keith’s military service is not the only area in which he showed bravery and strength, struggling with illness throughout most of his adult life, particularly the last 15 years. Keith never lost his sense of humor and determination to get better. He overcame the odds many times, always with the support and love of his family.
Keith worked at the Mobil Oil Refinery in Augusta for over 40 years. After retiring, he and
Margie spent many wonderful years together. They were able to travel and spend lots of time playing golf. Keith was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather — finding great joy spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Margie of the home; daughter, Sherry Hipsher and husband, Glen of Bethany, Okla.; granddaughter, Stacey Thomas and husband, Decherd of Tulsa; great-grandson, Miller Thomas of Tulsa; step grandson, Kevin Hipsher and wife, Pam and their son, Brian of Fairview, Okla.; step granddaughter, Jackie Anderson and husband, Mark of Oklahoma City; sister, Julia K. Dodge of Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clark Memorial United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, where Keith was a member.
Arrangements are being handled by Mercer Adams Funeral Service of Bethany, Okla.
Frank Allen Gibbon
Frank Allen Gibbon, 87, Augusta, formerly of Howard, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2005.

He is survived by family members: Carl and Edna; Carla and Rick; Sherry and Brent; Shane and Robin; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Ann, Alec, Taylor, Jaden, and Brinn; sister, Berry Coffin; three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge.
