Norman C. Miller

Norman Clarence Miller, 73, Beaumont, Texas, died on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at Towanda Cemetery in Towanda.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:30
a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Norman was born on Aug. 26, 1932 to Clarence and Lillian Miller in Towanda.
Longtime Augustan and resident of the Beaumont area since 1983, he retired from Mobil Oil in 1987.
Norman was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1952 until 1955, during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed hunting and skeet shooting.
Survivors include: his wife, Faye Miller; daughter, Anita Jagneaux and her husband, Kenneth, all of Beaumont; brothers, Robert E. Miller of Blanco, Texas, and Ray Miller and wife, Bess of Crowley, Texas; and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Miller; his mother, Lillian Stevenson; stepfather, Orie Stevenson, all of Augusta.
Arrangements in Beaumont were under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary.


Donald G. Diehl

Donald G. Diehl, 68, Rose Hill, retired AT&T relay maintenance man and owner of Don Diehl Salvage, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005.
His funeral service will
be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Rose Hill United Methodist Church with burial in the Iola Cemetery in Iola.
His survivors include: wife, Evelyn; sons, Dr. Stanley of Skiatook, Okla., and Jeffrey of Leon; brother,
Richard Diehl of Iola; sister, Leanna Yohe of Mulvane; two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Vernie and Helen Diehl; brother, Jerry Diehl; sister, Mona Diehl.
Services are by Broadway Mortuary of Wichita.

Dorothy Elliott

Former Augustan Dorothy Elliott, 81, Wichita, died Monday, Nov. 14,2005.
Her graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Leon Cemetery.
Visitation will be possible at the Dunsford Funeral Home between 4 and 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. Family will be present from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday.
This homemaker leaves daughter Karen Chavez of Wichita, son Terry Lee Elliott of Wichita, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren, and a sister, Sadie Whitacre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Averill Elliott, a sister, Betty, and a brother, Alvin.
Memorials to the Harry Hynes Hospice at 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202 have been suggested.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Floyd James ‘Tommy’ Kurimsky

Floyd James “Tommy” Kurimsky, 75, Derby, retired Vulcan Chemical employee, died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Rose Hill United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Mary; sons, Troy of Anaheim Hills, Calif, and Todd of Derby; brother, John of Clearwater; sisters,
Elizabeth Davidson of Wichita and Margaret McBride of Wellington; one grandson.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Anna Kurimsky; sisters, Helen Hahn, Ann Starnes, and Mary; twin brother, Frank.
Memorials have been established with Rose Hill United Methodist Church and/or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Smith Mortuary of Derby has charge of the arrangements.

Betty L. Day

Betty L. “Betty Jo” Day, 75, Peck, mother and mother-in-law of Vonna Jo and W.J. Stovall of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005.
A graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Washunga Cemetery in Newkirk, Okla.
Other survivors include: her husband, Arthur; daughters, Guylene Montgomery of Belle Plaine, Jolene Eastman of
Winfield; sister, Lela Mae Munroe of Newkirk; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Achan Lessert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel in Newkirk, Okla.

Doris Marshall rites pending

Doris Marshall, 93, Augusta, died today, Nov. 22, 2005.
Her funeral arrangements were pending this morning at the Headley Funeral Home of Augusta.
