R.L. Carrier Dies At 65
Robert L. Carrier, 65, Cottonwood Falls, father of Leslie Burch of Augusta, died Friday at his home.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood Falls. Rev. Larry Bowyer officiated.
A memorial has been established with the Chase County Emergency Medical Service and the Lupus Foundation.
He was born June 13, 1918 in Strong City to John and Margaret Carrier.
He married Dixie McCullough Dec. 27, 1964 in Emporia. She survives.
He was an abstractor real estate agent. He owned the Carrier Abstract Co., and was associated with Laughridge Insurance Co. before his retirement in 1980.
He was past president of the Kansas Land and Title Association. He served on the Kansas State Board of Abstract Examiners.
He served during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors include sons, Jon, Clay, both of Emporia, Kevin of Elmdale and five grandchildren.

Mary Simon Dies At 58
Mary E. Simon, 58, Wichita, mother of Marge Fitz of Augusta, died Sunday at Wesley Medical Center.
Her service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Wichita. Father George Kruzick will officiate. Entombment will be at the Resurrection Mausoleum there.
A memorial has been established with the St. Jude Catholic Church building fund.
She was born May 25, 1925 in Wichita to William and Irene Watts Harrison.
She married Melvin Simon. He survives.
Survivors also include a husband, Melvin; sons, Robert J., William J., both of Wichita; another daughters, Carolyn Kern of Wichita; brothers, John B. and Robert W. Harrison, both of Wichita, sister, Betty House of Pasedena, Calif., and five grandchildren.
Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita is in charge.

E.R. Chrisco Dies At 76
Ernest R. Chrisco, 76, rural El Dorado, died this morning at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Chrisco died from injuries suffered when his car struck the rear of a semi-truck near Mitchell’s Truck Stop in El Dorado.
The accident occurred about 6:45 a.m. today.
No one else was injured.
The truck is owned by Anderson Trucking of Minnesota.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the El Dorado Nazarene Church. Rev. Gary Wright will officiate and burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the El Dorado Nazarene Church.
He was born July 5, 1907 in Ash Flat, Ark., to Abner P. and Grace Wiles Chrisco.
He married Lorena Mae Hadley March 9, 1929 in Winfield. She survives.
He worked for the Augusta Mobil Refinery for 40 years. He retired in 1968.
He lived in Augusta 45 years before he moved to rural El Dorado.
Carlson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

C.C. Spencer Dies At 47
Charley Claude Spencer, 47, Route 3, died Wednesday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Central Baptist Church. Clyde Stockton and Rev. Gus Kubish will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born April 12, 1936 in Anderson, Mo., to Charles E. and Fannie Lower Spencer.
He married Patricia Sue Hornbeck March 4, 1955 in Miami, Okla. She survives.
He was a Boeing Aircraft employee.
Other survivors include daughters, Vickie Tyner of Pawhuska, Okla., Licia Edwards of San Jose, Calif., and Karie Spencer of Augusta; a brother, Ernest Spencer of Joplin; sisters, Frances Drake of California and Mildred Phelps of Shawnee Mission and three grandchildren.
A son preceded him in death.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
