Sister Dies In Wichita
Fern L. Shaffer, 76, Wichita, sister of Charles Haynes of Douglass, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Downing and Lahey Mortuary in Wichita. Bill Murray will officiate and burial will be at the Wichita Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Heart Association.
She was born Nov. 20, 1906 in Butler to Charles Asa and Lula Mae Ash Haynes.
She married Joe W. Shaffer. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Other survivors include daughters, Kay Wirz of Seymour, Texas, Carol Adamson of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Neva Jones of California, Marjorie Parsons Roison of Costa Mesa, Calif., and two grandchildren.

Dies At 72
Herbert Hugh Rea Sr., 72, Fifty-four Trailer Court, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born April 17, 1911 in Niles to Hugh and Anna Rea.
He married Corrie Baggerly Howard in 1968. She survives.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a construction worker. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Other survivors include sons Herbert Rea Jr., of Wichita and Steve Rea of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepson, Harold Howard of Wichita; daughters, Vonda Fuller of Salina and Karen Pittman of Soloman; sisters, Audrey Newcomer of Glendale, Calif., and Mildred Garrison of Hamet, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
