Richard L. Mead

Richard L. Mead, 60, Augusta, died on Friday, March 10, 2006.
Memorial service was held Saturday.
His survivors include: wife, Karen of Kansas City, Mo.; father, James of Andover; daughter, Paula Smith, Tonia Mead, and Jennifer Mead, all of Kansas City;
brothers, James and Lawrence, both of Wichita; sister, Teresa Hammon of Augusta; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by All Faith Funeral Services in Wichita.

Mary Estelle Webb

Mary Estelle (Scott) Webb, 58, Douglass, registered nurse, died on Saturday, March 11, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at the Bloomington Cemetery.
Mary was born on Nov. 4, 1947 in St. Louis, Mo. and raised in Fulton, Mo., by her parents, Eddie Lee and Estelle (Palmer) Scott. She was a 1993 graduate of Kansas Newman School of Nursing and worked as a RN at Augusta Medical
Complex before retiring due to ill health.
She is survived by: her husband, Thomas H. Webb; daughter, Kirsten George of Branson, Mo.;
foster daughter, Judy Smith of El Dorado; seven grandchildren; friend/companion, Susan Roe.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.

Inez Douthitt

Inez Douthitt, 92, Barnesville, Ga., formerly of Augusta, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
Mrs. Douthitt was born in Barry County, Mo., on Sept. 9, 1913, the daughter of John Edward and Orleana Ray (Stever) Chappell. Inez was a native of Mano, Mo., and had lived in Augusta before moving to Barnesville, Ga. several years ago. She was a homemaker and had been a member of First Baptist Church in Augusta.
She is survived by: a daughter, Janet Powell and her husband, Arthur of Barnesville, Ga.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Franklin Douthitt and a brother, Glen Chappell.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.

Lewis W. Roberts

Lewis W. Roberts, 64, Dickinson, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2006.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Sylvia Sue Hudson

Sylvia Sue Hudson, 69, Wichita, registered nurse retired from Via Christi St. Joseph, died on Thursday, March 16, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20, at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at the funeral home.
Her survivors include: son, Brian Hudson; mother, Kathryn Todd; sister, Jill Boucher, all of Augusta;
sister-in-law, Jane Todd; cousin, Karen Watson; grandchildren, Brian Daniel and Shannon Hudson; three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Arrangements are being handled by Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.

William E. “Bill” Martin

William E. “Bill” Martin, 84, Augusta, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20, at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Solomon. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Mr. Martin was born in Salina on Nov. 6, 1921, the son of the late Joseph Christopher and Sarah Elizabeth (Simpson).
He retired as a tool planner at Beech Aircraft after 46 years and he served in the United States Navy during World War II. On March 5, 1946, he married Elnora (Nevius) in Hutchinson. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: sons, Bill and his wife, Pam Martin of Augusta, and Dale and his wife, Becky Martin of Lumberton, Texas; daughters, Linda Larsen of Park City, Marcia Emerson of Fredonia, Terry and her husband, Jeff Towner of Rose Hill;
brothers, Chuck Martin of Solomon and Dick and wife, Twila Martin of Abilene; sister, Evelyn and her husband, Cecil Peterson of Smolan; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Bob, and Jim.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
