Mabel
Densmore

Mabel Densmore, 92, Wichita, went to God on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006.
Her graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
A memorial celebration will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, at
the Kansas Masonic Home Manor, 200 S. Martinson, Wichita.
Visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
Mabel was the daughter of Richard L. “Papa” and Dona Jones. She was born on March 12,1913 in Jenks, Okla.
She was involved with the Eastern Star for many years and was a member of the Baptist Church.
She loved to travel, with ports of call to Hawaii, Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, the Philippines, and points of interest in the United States and Canada.
Mabel’s husband, Roy worked for Mobil Oil Co. and they lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Oklahoma before retiring in Texas.
After Roy’s death, she moved to the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by the family she left behind.
She is survived by: sons, Donald Densmore and wife, Pat of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Wesley Densmore and wife, Doris of Cambria, Calif.; daughter, Jane Densmore of Wichita;
sisters, Irene Guyot of Longton; daughter-in-law, Leihl Densmore of Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Roy; son, Richard Densmore; sister, Myrtle Jones; grandson, Mark Bardot; granddaughters, Amber and Amy Densmore.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Kryal S. Cowans

Kryal Sue Cowans, 54, Wichita, LPN and homemaker, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita.
Her survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tina Pinkerton of Andover;
mother and stepfather, Zona and Charley Swank of Augusta; father, Robert Blankenship of Wichita; two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Trace Norton.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Hillside Funeral Home East of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Rose Hill firefighter dies at Wichita hospital

Jason Johnson, 28, Rose Hill, died Saturday.
This firefighter with Butler County Fire District 3, assisted in fighting a grass fire in the southwest part of the fire district Saturday afternoon.
Later that afternoon, while he and his wife were driving through Andover on their way to Wichita, due to an unknown medical problem, Johnson became unresponsive.
Despite a quick medical first response by the Andover Fire Department and transport to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita by Butler County EMS, he passed away at the hospital.
Johnson joined Butler County Fire District 3 in August 2000 as a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed being a firefighter for the department, and was always eager to help with whatever needed to be done around the station or during the alarms in which he responded.
Funeral arrangements for Johnson were pending this morning at the Headley Funeral Chapel here in Augusta. His fellow firefighters wish to express their deepest sympathies to Jason's family.
He leaves behind a wife and 4-year-old son.

Lois Marie Hollingsworth

Lois Marie Hollingsworth, 76, Yates Center, formerly of Augusta, died on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
Her survivors include: husband, John; son, Daryl and wife, Dori;
daughter, Cynthia and husband, Ken Gerstner; brother, Arthur Tanahill; sisters, Shirley Yeager and Ula Fay Eagle; four grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
