Joann McFarland

Joann McFarland, 84, Fall River, homemaker and mother of Randy McFarland of Augusta, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel in Fredonia. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery, Altoona.
Other survivors include: husband, Paul McFarland of the home; son, Bill McFarland of Pittsburg, Texas; daughter, Paula Joslin of Arab, Ala.;
sister, Jeannie Traband of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Fred and Lura (Holestine) Kirk;
brothers, Herbert Kirk and Matthew Alford; sister, Dollie Harold.
A memorial has been established with the B-Team Angels Ministry and may be sent to the funeral home.
Arrangements by Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia.

Rowena M. Gilliand

Rowena M. Gilliand, 93, Augusta, homemaker, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in Whitewater.
Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday; funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Mrs. Gilliand was born in Furley on Dec. 8, 1912, the daughter of George and Cora (Patterson) Meyer. On April 19, 1936, she married John R. Gilliand in Sunnydale. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1964. Three brothers, two sisters, a grandson, and a great-grandson preceded her in death as well.
She is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, Harry and Chris of Augusta and John and Colleen of Andover; daughters, Karen Murphy of Valley Center and Janet Gilliand of Augusta; eight grandsons; five greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may go to the TRI-C Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
Arrangements under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Lloyd Scribner

Lloyd Scribner, 68 Augusta passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26, with family to greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Lloyd was born in Anton, Colo., on Sept. 25, 1937, the son of Glen and Marie (Wells) Scribner. He worked as a custom boat cover fabricator at Bailey's Custom Covers in Augusta.
Survivors include: companion, Edie Nauman, of the home; stepson, Jeff Nauman, Lander, WY; brothers, Bruce of Perkins, Okla, Garry of Payton, Colo., and Larry of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Elaine Schuette of Apache Junction, Ariz.; step grandchildren Ross and Jennifer Nauman.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Frederick C. “Mac” McGuire

Frederick C. “Mac” McGuire, 72, Hutchinson, formerly of Augusta, band instruments sales and repair employee for Johnson Music Center, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday; funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, all at Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita.
Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m., at the Douglass Cemetery in Douglass.
His survivors include: wife, Collette of Hutchinson; son, Darren of Wichita; daughters, Meleigh of Haven, Erika of Wichita, and Meloney of McPherson; step sons, Charles Foster, Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Heath Foster of Haven; step daughters, Sonya Horsch of Andale, Yvonne Foster of
Hutchinson; sister, Marylee Surface of Augusta; four grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Marlys McGuire.
Memorials may be given to donor’s choice for music.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita.

Robert “Bob” Barry

Robert “Bob” Barry, 83, Douglass, retired Union Pacific agent, father of Marlene Mussat of Augusta, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2006.
Services will be announced at a later date.
His survivors include: children, Sharon (Ken) Berry, Penny (Mike) Ribble-Nelson, and John (Karen) Barry; brother Charlie Barry; 10 grandchildren, including Amy Walker of Augusta; 20 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Mortuary in Derby.
