Edith Cooper

Edith Cooper, 90, Towanda, resident of Lakepoint Nursing facility in Augusta, died on
Saturday, May 6, 2006.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
Edith was born on June 10, 1915 in Avoca, Ark., the daughter of Asbury and Dora Dean Moore.
She lived in the Butler County area most of her life. On Sept. 30; 1949, she married Paul Cooper in Bentonville, Ark.
He died in 1997. Edith worked for Howard Johnson’s on the Kansas Turnpike and was a school bus driver for Cole Creek School.
She loved being a mother and grandmother.
Surviving family includes: son, John and his wife, Barbara Cooper of Hutchinson; daughters, Mary and husband, Tom Gaither,
Bobbi Daniels, all of McAllen, Texas, and Judy Turner of Wichita; brother, Kenneth Moore of El Dorado;
11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, and two sisters.

Janice D. Ziegler

Janice D. Ziegler, 89, Wichita, mother and mother-in-law of Darlene and Noel Schurtz of Augusta, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2006.
Rosary at 7 p.m. this evening; funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, both at the Church of The Magdalen in Wichita.
Other survivors include: her husband, Blaze; daughter, Carrol McCormick of Greenville, Texas; sister, Kawanna McCrea of Mulvane; brother, Jack Hendrickson of Carthage, Texas; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Larry Folk; grandson, Gregory McCormick; three brothers and four sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, 67211.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.

Vera Beard

Vera Beard, 87, Augusta, died on Monday, May 8, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance to the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, May 10, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
Vera was bom on June 18,1918 in Little Rock, Ark. She lived most of her adult life in Augusta.
Her survivors include: son, Bob and wife, Connie of El Dorado; sisters, Nina Mynhier of Henrietta, Okla, and Cyble Johnson of Holdenville, Okla.; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Delma M. Hazen

Delma M. Hazen, 84, Wichita, retired Beech Aircraft quality assurance product improvement analyst, sister of Janis Bishop of Augusta, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
Funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. this evening at Old Mission Mortuary, Wichita.
Other survivors include: daughters, Pamela Dee Rollins of Cedar Ridge, Colo., Angela Beth Shoot of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Gayla Vaughan Stanley of Wichita; seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita.

Cora M. Hurst

Cora M. Hurt, 81, Wichita, homemaker, sister and sister-in-law of Herbert and June Howe of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita.
Other survivors include: husband, Robert “Bob”; daughters, June Fanning of Ariz., Corina Smith of Wichita, and Wanda Hoover of Ind.;
brothers, Leo Howe of Wichita and Clyde Howe of Fla.; sister, Hazel Lawrence of Mo.;
four grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association.

Ali Beth Espinosa-Jolly

Ali Beth Espinosa-Jolly, one-year-old infant daughter of Bobby Jolly and Molly Espinosa, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, at Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Center.
Other survivors include: sister, Carly Espinosa; grandparents, Henry and Rita McVay, all of Wichita great-grandparents, Bob and Jean Jordan of Wichita
and Mary and Jim McVay of Augusta.
A memorial has been designated to the Ali Beth Espinosa-Jolly Memorial Fund, in care of Baker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 242, Valley Center, 67147.
