Irene Louise Benton

Irene Louise Benton, 80, Hutchinson, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, in Stafford Cemetery in Stafford.
Irene was born on June 25,1925 in Medicine Lodge, to Harry and Ezma Urton Kinkaid. She graduated
from Medicine Lodge High School in 1943. She was a bookkeeper in the Ford-County Treasurer’s office for 27 years and retired in 1999. On Feb. 16, 1946, she married Archie Benton in Iuka. He passed away on Dec. 16, 1971.
She is survived by: daughter, Linda Burkhart of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Shawn Benton, Keith Kubin, Angie Wright, and Nikki Burkhart;
three greatgrandchildren, Zayne Dalton, Larissa and Emily Wright.
Memorials may be given to Hospice House in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral
Home & Crematory in Hutchinson.

E. Lenora Van Dyke

E. Lenora Van Dyke, 93, Wichita, retired Veteran’s Hospital and Coleman Co. employee, mother of Dora Jean Bond of Augusta, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2006.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening; funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, both at Hillside Funeral Home West in Wichita.
Other survivors include: sons, Jack (Ruthie) of Wichita and George (Thelma) of Winfield; eight grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; eight great-
great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Young of Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings, and one grandson.
Memorials may go to The True Church of the Firstborn.

Russell J. “Russ” Jessogne

Russell J. “Russ” Jessogne, 85, Wichita, retired sheet metal mechanic for Central Air, father and father-in-law of Jean and Ed Anderson of Augusta, died on Monday, May 22, 2006.
Rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25; funeral mass at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, both at Church of the Resurrection in Wichita.
Other survivors are: wife, Mary; sons, John of Wichita and Steven of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Mary Kay Holl of St. Cloud, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Church of the Resurrection, 4910 N. Woodlawn, Bel Aire, 67220, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Arrangements are under the direction of Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita.

Dean LaRue, Jr.

Dean LaRue, Jr., 41, Augusta, Love Box Company employee, died Saturday, May 27, as the result of a truck-train accident northeast of El Dorado.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Interment will follow in Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton.
Dean was born on May 3, 1965, the son of Dean and Dorothy (Clark) LaRue, Sr. On Aug. 9, 1986, Dean and Paula Atkerson were united in marriage in El Dorado.
His survivors include: his wife of the home; daughters, Sherry Mosier of Augusta and Jenny LaRue of the home;
brothers, Larry LaRue, El Dorado and Gary LaRue of Burns; sisters, Tammy Wynn of Leon and Denise LaRue of Bartlesville, Okla.; grandmother, JoAnn Bates of El Dorado; grandfather,
William Roscoe Clark, Whitewater; three grandchildren.
Dean died at the same time as his parents.
Memorials in his memory may go to the Kansas Wildlife Association and may be left at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Walter “Pop” Stockman

Walter “Pop” Stockman, 90, Douglass, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2006, after a long illness.
No services will be held.
His survivors include: daughters, Sue Carol and Gerald Helten of Douglass
and Georgiana Lorraine Clark of Laurel, Mont.; sister, E. Frances Shaffi of Carmel, Calif.;
six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luci, in 1991.
Memorials may go to Hospice Care of Kansas, 206 E. Central, El Dorado, 67042.

Versa May Nigg

Versa May Nigg, 77, Wichita, sister of Bertha Woodard of Augusta, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2006.
Funeral mass was held
this morning at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: children, Michael Nigg, David Nigg, and Cathy Knott, all of Wichita; sister, Maxine Nicks of Maize; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Memorial established with St. Jude Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements were handled by Cochran Mortuary in Wichita.


Patricia C. “Pat” Baker

Patricia C. “Pat” Baker, 61, Leon, former Dollar General Store manager, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, at Carlson Funeral Home in ElDorado.
Her survivors include: husband, Leo; sons, John Levasseur, of Augusta, Sgt. Ted Levasseur of Ft. Riley,
Timothy Baker of Leon, and Terry Baker of Augusta; sister, Martha Elliott of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren.
Arrangements by Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
