Marilyn Kay Potts

Marilyn Kay Potts, 58, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Wichita, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, of complications resulting from an automobile accident.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at First Christian Church, Augusta.
Marilyn was born in El Dorado, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Chalmers) Ruggles. She was a public relations and marketing specialist for the Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio.
After graduating from Wichita State, she taught high school for a year in Wichita then worked for the Wichita Chamber of Commerce and in the Wichita office of U.S. Rep. Garner Shriver.
She was subsequently employed in public relations positions for a number of non-profit organizations in the Wichita area,
including the Institute for Logopedics (now Heartspring), the Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, Wichita Chapter of Catholic Charities and Rainbows.
She also served for a time as public relations director of Associated Advertising in Wichita.
On September 13, 1986 she married Mike Potts in Wichita, He survives.
Other survivors include: her daughter, Kimberly Garrett, of Overland Park; her parents; three
brothers, Larry, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Paul, of Bellingham, Wash; and Chris, of Augusta; a sister, Bonnie, of Augusta; three grandchildren, Jordan, Katie and Jack Garrett, all of Overland Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heartspring School 8700 E. 29th St. N. Wichita KS 67226 or to the Isle of Springs Association, Isle of Springs, Maine.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Frank L. Vincent

Frank L. Vincent, 83, Caney, father of Jody Vincent of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney.
Other survivors include: daughter, Lori Brooks of Caney; two grandsons; four step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney.

Kenneth R. Reames

Kenneth R. Reames, 80, Garden Plain, U.S. Navy veteran, R & L president and retired Cessna Aircraft employee, father and father-in-law of Monta and Bill Luther of Augusta, died on Monday, May 22, 2006.
Visitation until 9 p.m. this evening; funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, both at Wulf-Ast Mortuary in Garden Plain. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Garden Plain.
Other survivors are: wife, Una; son, Randall of Denver, Colo.; brothers, Duane of Ruidosa, N.M. and Ted of Conchas Dam, N.M.; five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may go to the Garden Plain Library.
Arrangements are being handled by Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain.

Martin C. O’Connell, Jr.

Martin C. O’Connell, Jr., 79, Wichita, retired U.S. postal carrier, died on Friday, May 19, 2006.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
His survivors include: sister, Patricia McEwan of Topeka; daughters, Marlea Lynn Ingram and Patty Braswell; son, Martin C. O’Connell, III.
Arrangements are under the direction of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary in Wichita.

(Retired) Roy H. Kephart

Lt. Col. (Retired) Roy H. Kephart, 82, Thayer, brother of Martha Watts of Augusta, died on Thursday, June 1, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.
Other survivors include: sons, Brian of France, Marcus of Bolingbrook, ILL., and Sam of Yucaipa, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Joe of rural Thayer.
Arrangements handled by Carson-Wall Funeral. Home, Parsons.
