McNairy, Jr.

Milo G. McNairy, Jr., 79, of Augusta, passed away
Tuesday, August 22, 2006.
Visitation only from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, August 25, at Headley
Funeral Chapel, with family; to greet friends from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
Milo was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on Nov. 28, 1926, the son of Milo G. McNairy Sr. and Erma Sylvia (Weaver) McNairy.
He retired in 1983 as a Mobil Oil TCC Operator after 37 years.
After graduating from Augusta High School in 1944, he joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific on a combat troop transport.
He was a charter member of the Augusta Southern Baptist I Church, a member of the AFL-CIO Union-serving in every capacity needed for many years, and VFW Post #2485.
Milo was an outdoor person, who loved gardening, walking, reading, and visiting friends.
He was a friend to everyone. On November 2, 1957 he married Lorraine (Haines) in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, Augusta; a son, Michael McNairy and his wife Katy of Haltom City, Texas; a daughter, Linda Sciarrotta and her husband Mike of Towanda; brother, Francis "Corky" McNairy, Augusta;
five grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew, Matthew, Collin, and Allison; and one great-granddaughter, Frankie Ann.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association or Hospice Care of Kansas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Danny Miller, 29, Wichita, died on Aug. 23, 2006.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home in Augusta.

Ruth L. Presley

Ruth L. Presley, 95, Augusta, homemaker, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006.
Visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Service at 10 a.m. on Monday, both at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
She is survived by her daughter, Lenora Weir of El Dorado; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
