Phillip Leroy Torkelson

Phillip Leroy Torkelson, 52, Claremore, Okla., jet
engine test site supervisor of Nordam, formerly ’ of Augusta, passed away on Friday, Aug. 25, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Claremore. Burial will follow, at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1954, in Wichita, the son of Delbert William and Phyllis Jo (Gibson) Torkelson. He grew up in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1973,. Phillip movfed to'Claremore where he met and married Barbara Walton. Phillip was an accomplished pianist. He enjoyed working on and
racing cars, and playing golf. He loved to be involved with projects, building and construction. He was a Star Trek and an avid sports fan. Phillips’ greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara of the home; daughter, Shannon Daane and husband, Michael of Claremore; father, Delbert Torkelson of Claremore; brothers, David Torkelson and wife, Robin of Catoosa, Okla., Raymond Torkelson and wife, Liana of Augusta, and Mark Torkelson and wife, Tonya of Cherryville; sisters, Jana Glasgow of Wamego, Margaret Arnold and husband, Brad of Augusta, and Nancy Rawlings and husband, Gary of Augusta; grandchildren, Adam and Hannah Daane; step grandchildren, Jeffrey and Holly Daane.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis.
Arrangements are under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service in Claremore, Okla.

Helen L. Drouhard

Helen L. Drouhard, 85, Danville, homemaker, retired farmer, and Danville Post Office clerk, died on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006.
Recitation of Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1; funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Danville.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Danville.
Her survivors include: sons, Ron Drouhard of Stillwater, Okla., Jim Drouhard and Roger Drouhard, both of Danville; daughters, Nancy Galbraith of Augusta and Ruth Ann Newsum of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may go to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Danville of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community.

Jerry Harrison, 59, Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006.
Funeral arrangements were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Jerry L. Harrison, 59, Cessna production employee of Augusta, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30 , 2006.
Viewing 1-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, with family to greet friends from 7-8 p.m. and services 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Jerry was born in El Dorado on June 5, 1947, he was the son of Jerry Elonzo and Helen Irene (McIntosh) Harrison.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Harrison; a brother, Jay Harrison and his wife Julie, all of Augusta; a niece, Brooke Ponce and her husband Will, Kansas City, Mo; a nephew, Stratton Harrison, Manhattan; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.

Shirley L. Huffman

Shirley Huffman, 68, lost her battle with cancer at her home in Augusta, on Thursday, August 31, 2006.
Shirley will be cremated in Kansas and her ashes will be buried alongside her husband in Harrisburg, SD. A memorial service will be held in Harrisburg on September 29.
Her survivors include: Rhonda (Pat) McDonald of Casper, Wyo.; Charles (Peggy) Huffman of Tucson, Ariz.; Bruce Huffman of Vermillion, SD; Gloria (Kenneth) Buthe of Augusta;
Jeff Huffman of Cordova, Ark.; Sherri (Paul) Kitchenmaster of Luverne, Minn.; Julie Huffman of Sioux Falls, SD. She has 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her daughter Rhita.
Memorials may go to Headley Funeral Home (813 State Steet Augusta, 67010) and will be donated to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) in honor of Shirley’s great-grandson Garrett Buthe.
