Rochelle Knox

Rochelle Knox, 83, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.
Visitation from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, with family to
greet friends from 6-8 p.m.; funeral service 2 p.m.,
Oct. 18, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Rochelle was born on June 20, 1923 in Abilene, the daughter of the late John and Evaughn (Baker) Swader. She worked as a secretary and office manager for various places, served on the White Eagle Credit Union board, was a former member of the Hypatia club and a member of the First United Methodist Church. On Dec. 19, 1941 she married Glenn Knox in Detroit, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1991. A sister, Marie Swader, preceded her in death as well.
She is survived by: her daughter Shirley Stueven and her husband Bob, Augusta; a brother, Jack Swader, Wichita; grandsons, Mike Stueven and his wife Samantha, and Scott Stueven and his wife Shannon; great grandchildren Aubrey, Grace, Emma, and Connor and her companion, Shadow.

Dee Pettinger

Dee Pettinger, 35, Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006.
Funeral service was held this morning at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.
Her survivors include: fiancee, Homer King of Augusta; son, Dustin Pettinger, Wichita; Mom and Dad, Terry and Barbara Hartley, Wichita; father, Jerry Emrich, Ohio; sister, Annie Epperly and her family of Texas; brother, Tony Hartley and family of Fla.; grandparents, Jean See of Fla., Elizabeth (Nannie) Craig, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Pete and Nancy Kane, Jo Vance, and Glen Emrich, all of Ohio.
Memorials to South City Southern Baptist Church Fund, 1513 Galena, Wichita, 67210.
Arrangements were handled by Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.

Alfred F. “Al” Ross

Alfred F. "Al" Ross, 83, of Andover, loving father, grandfather and brother, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.
this evening, Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Faith Baptist Church, Andover. Interment will be at Andover Cemetery.
Mr. Ross was born in Anson, Kansas on Sept. 8, 1923, the son of the late John Blair and Neva (Marr) Ross.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from Cessna after 38 years.
On September 18, 1946 he married Rosella Doris Dodrill in Wichita. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1989. He was also preceded in death by a son, Don; great grandsons, Austin and Brandon Clark; and a sister, Betty Nordberg as well.
Survivors include: son Duane Ross, Andover; daughter, Joan (Jody) Lawson and her husband Jack, Augusta; brothers, Walter Ross and his wife Mardel, Wichita; and Ralph Ross, Andover; sisters Mildred Briles, Leroy, KS; and Esther Christie, Nevada, MO; two grandchildren, Michelle Clark and Matt Lawson; and six greatgrandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Jennifer, Leslie, Breanna, and Megan Burkett.
Memorials to Faith Baptist Church, 417 W. Central Andover, 67002, where he was a long time member and Sunday school teacher.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
