Judie K. Walker
Judie K. Walker, 63, former clerk for Scott's Liquor and Ewalt's Liquor, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.
Viewing 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, family to greet friends from 6-8 p.m., and services 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
Judie was born in Augusta on June 19, 1943, the daughter of the late Irwin and Esther (Arnold) Blake. On March 9, 1974 she married David D. Walker in Augusta. He survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Kenneth Allen and Todd Allen and his wife Brenda, both of El Dorado; step daughters, Karen Poff and her husband Tim, of Carrolton, Texas and Donna Hennette and her husband Richard of Wichita; brothers, Donald Blake and his wife Charlotte of Augusta and David Blake and his wife Ruby of Russell; sister, Joyce Sudduth of Augusta, 11 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Larry Kenneth Allen, step son, Mike Walker, and a step daughter, Jan Walker.
Memorials to American Cancer Society 818 N. Emporia Suite 100 Wichita, Kansas 67214 or Red Hat Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
James H. “Jim” Fehring
James H. "Jim" Fehring, 81, of Augusta, retired pharmacist, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at his home after battling a terminal lung disease.
A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
There will be no visitation. A private burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Missouri.
Jim was born in Wheaton, Missouri on Feb. 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Velma Margaret (West) Fehring.
They moved to Joplin, Mo. when James was 6 months old. He attended Joplin High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joplin, Mo.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and served 2 1/2 years in WWII in the South Pacific. In September 1947, he entered The University of Kansas City Pharmacy School and graduated in June 1950. He was called back to Pusan, Korea where he opened a dispensary to handle sick call for 35,000 troops.
He met Beulah Mary Leggett of Oronogo, Mo. in 1945 and married the love of his life on Nov. 1st, 1946. They owned 4th Street Pharmacy and worked
together in the pharmacy from 1957-1968. Jim retired as the Chief Pharmacist of the Coffeyville Memorial Hospital in December 1986. In December 1989, Jim and Mary moved to Augusta. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 1 st, 2006.
James enjoyed swimming, bowling, playing tennis and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Keystone Lodge #102 of Coffeyville, Masonic Lodge, Shriners of Pittsburg, KS and the Scottish Rite of Wichita.
James will be forever loved by his wife, Mary; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Debbie of Haslet, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Maggie and Steve Duncan of Augusta; his pride and joy granddaughters, Katie and Jaymie Duncan; his "little buddy," great-grandson, Lane Michael Duncan and his favorite aunt, Ruth Nutt of Denver, CO.
He is also survived by his brother, Bob Fehring of Topeka and sisters, Betty Meadows and Ruth Ann Shelton of Joplin, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to First Baptist Church Preschool 1501 State Street Augusta, 67010 or American Lung Association 4300 Drury Lane Topeka, 66604.

Mattie Evelyn Moseley
Mattie Evelyn (Stewart) Moseley, 68, retired Pomona school district security officer, Pomona, Calif., passed away on Oct. 10, 2006.
She was born on May 6, 1938 in Winfield, and grew up on a farm northeast of Douglass, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Ontario, Calif, in 1959, where she met Bill Moseley, whom she married on Oct. 30, 1959.
She is survived by: her husband; daughter, Beth (David) Kaltenberger of Cave Springs, Ark.; son, Joe (Irela) Moseley of Pomona; four grandchildren; brothers, Paul and Emerson Stewart; sister, Mary Palmgren, all of Butler County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Leota Stewart and a sister, Barbara Williams.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
