Delila D. Pinkerton
Delila D. Pinkerton, 64, Douglass, registered nurse practitioner at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years, passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006.
At her request, there will be no services.
She is survived by: her mother, Faye Peterson; brother, Dwight Peterson and his wife, Patty;
two sisters, Julie Fuller, all of Douglass, and Maryln Harvey of Andover;
two grandchildren, Jennifer Barton and husband, Ken, and John Pinkerton, all of Douglass; many greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Delila was preceded in death by; her husband, Robert Pinkerton; a son, Kyle Pinkerton; and her father, Vernon Peterson.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society.
Arrangements under the direction of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.
Carl Leroy Smith
Carl Leroy Smith, 89, Andover, retired Mobil Oil employee for over 40 years, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006.
Private family services to be held.
Mr. Smith was born on Feb. 1, 1917, to Harvey and Hazel Smith.
Carl married Mildred G. Wesbrook of Cedarvale, and made their lifetime home in Augusta. He was a member of the Masonic Mystic Tie Lodge #74.
Survivors include: wife, Mildred of Andover; brother, Cecil Smith; son, Larry L. (JoZana) of Andover; daughter, Nancy (Ron) Truhlar of Chicago, ILL. and Clearwater Beach, Fla.;
grandchildren, Kemp and Tamara Smith of Andover, Debbie (Mark) Zoller of LaGrange, ILL., Jeff Truhlar, Chicago; two greatgrandchildren, Eric and April Zoller.
Mr. Smith was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Heritage Funeral Home, Andover.
Harriett Blanche Corbin
Harriett Blanche Corbin, 85, El Dorado, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, after a long illness.
The Celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Central Baptist Church in rural Augusta. Burial will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harriett was born on Sept. 27, 1921, in Furley, the daughter of Floyd and Hazel (Wait) Bachelder. She lived most of her life in Butler County. She graduated from Augusta High School at the age of 16.
She then attended and graduated from El Dorado Junior College. She taught school for several years.
On Feb. 15, 1942, she married Warren Corbin in Towanda. She was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife. She loved being with her family, especially the Christmas breakfast at her home. She was a wonderful cook and many remember her hot rolls, chicken and noodles, and the homemade ice cream. She loved to shop, collect bells and Beanie Babies, play Rook, and dress chickens for all of her friends and neighbors. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Surviving family are: sons and their wives, Rex and Candice Corbin of Benton, Ted and Karen Corbin, Jim and Carolyn Corbin, all of El Dorado, Joe and Sharon Corbin of Towanda, Jon and Lisa Corbin of Magnolia, Texas; sister, Doris Young of Cheney; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, and one sister.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church or the Gideons.

Elizabeth “Betty” Barker
Elizabeth “Betty” Barker, 47, Wichita, homemaker and caregiver, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006.
Visitation with family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday; funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, both at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th, Wichita.
Her survivors are: husband, Ed Barker of Wichita; daughter, Sabrina Barker of Wichita;
brothers, Clarence W. McCall of St. Charles, Mo., Milton Deichman of N. Jackson, Ohio, and William “Bill” Shinkle of Andover; sisters, Barbara Deitchler of Wichita and, Linda Johnson of Vandalia, Mo.; sister-in-law, LaDonna James of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Dorothy Shinkle and brother, Steven.
