Bill Draper

Bill Draper, 84, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008.
Viewing 2-8 p.m. Sunday with family to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. and service 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4„ both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Viewing 5-9 p.m. Monday, Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, Kan. and graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at West Cedar Cemetery, rural Agra, Kan.
Walter was born in Agra on May 12, 1923, the son of the late Walter and Bessie (Gordon) Draper. Bill retired from the accounting department of Kansas and Nebraska Gas Company and was a cattleman and rancher in Gatesville and North Zulch, Texas.
He served in
the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. On July 17,1943 he married Alice Morgan in
Phillipsburg and she preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2003. A
sister, Lavone Jacobs preceded him in death as well. On Oct. 9, 2004 he married Ruth Wise in Augusta.
He is survived by: wife, Ruth; sons, Gary Draper and wife Judy of College Station, Texas; and Terry Draper and wife Val of Larkspur, Colo.; step daughters, Nancy Fruechting and husband Mike of Marion, and Debra Perry of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Thelma Fehncke of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren, Scott Draper and wife Elise of College Station, Texas, Kim Reid and husband Wally of Houston, Texas, Meesha Baldridge and husband Damian of Denver, Colo.,
and Kelsy Draper of Boulder, Colo.; greatgrandchildren, Garrett and Skylar Draper, and Kitt and McKenna Reid; step grandchildren, Jennifer, Zachary and Joshua Fruechting of Marion and Shannon Steinbauer and husband Robert of Augusta; step great grandchildren, Madison and Kate Steinbauer.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association 347 S. Laura Wichita, Kansas 67211.

Doris L. Wilkins, 90, of
Augusta, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the First Christian Church in Augusta.

Don Robert Poland

Don Robert Poland, 80, Isabel, Kan., father and father-in-law of Dianne and Bill Buggeln of Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008.
Visitation from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday, at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt. Funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Isabel Church of Christ, officiated by sons-in-law, Bill and Howard.
Don was born on April 12, 1927, the son of P.L. and Bessie (Hamm) Poland. He married Mary June Sleeper 61 years ago. He was a farmer, friend and neighbor
in Pratt and Barber Counties. He was a member of the Isabel Church of Christ serving as a teacher, a deacon and an elder. He served on the school board at Isabel, the Isabel Co-Op Board and the Federal Land Bank board. He was honored in Barber County as Soil Conservation Award winner in 1991.
Other survivors include: children, Rita (Howard) Kendall, San Antonio, Texas, Richard (Anita) Poland of Isabel, Greg (Janet) Poland of Edmond, Okla., Brian (Tammy) Poland of Isabel, Kendall (Rhonda) Poland of Carmen, Okla.; brother, Dr. Jack (Sue) Poland of Fort
Collins, Colo.;18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene Poland, and a sister, Geraldine Poland.
Memorials may be sent to “In Search of the Lord’s Way,” in Edmond, Okla., or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the mortuary.

Alma “Jo” Wade

Alma "Jo" Wade, 80, Douglass, homemaker, passed away Jan. 26, 2008.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from
noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at Hilyard-Smith Mortuary in Douglass. Funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Douglass Christian Church.
Survivors: brother, Buddy Plummer; sister, Dorothy Ball; five children, Jack Wade Jr., Cathy (Robert) Cummins, Lisa (Bill) Taylor, Linda Wade and Laurie Wade;
five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, KS 67211.
