Mary Goodner
Mary Lu (Sweeney) Goodner, 72, passed away, , Sunday, June 1, 2008.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the First Christian Church, 1600 N. State Street, Augusta. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Mary was born April 21, 1936 in Augusta to George "Alvin" and Laura "Winona" (Sanderson) Sweeney. They preceded her in death. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1955 and then married James Grant Goodner on July 1, 1961 in Augusta. He preceded her in 1993.
Mary volunteered for the Red Cross and the Augusta Senior Center, loved animals and going on senior trips.
Survivors: sister, Barbara (Jim) Thompson, Wichita; nephews, Mark (Nell) Thompson, Robert (Traci) Thompson; niece, Laura (Jeff) Tuttle; seven grand nieces and nephews; four great-grand nephews.
Memorials established with the First Christian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Services entrusted to Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home.
Ted Scott
Ted Wayne Scott, 75, Rose Hill, retired Boeing mechanic and Club House Inn maintenance employee, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008.
Funeral service was held on Friday, May 23, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment was in Dunlap Cemetery in Rose Hill.
Ted was born Oct 4, 1932 in Atlanta, Kans. to Harold and Nancy
(Lawyer) Scott. They precede him.
Ted was best known for his country western musical talent. He loved life and people. He and his band, the Western Drifters were well-known during the 1960’s. He also had a weekly radio show on KJRG in Newton and toured sith several Grand Ole Opry stars.
Survivors: sons, Steve (Robin) Scott, Rose Hill, Tom (Summer) Scott, Douglass, Mark (Kim) Scott, Augusta; daughters, Sandi (Chuck) Haubein, Cypress, Texas, Linda Scott Arnone, and Debi Scott Gambino, both
of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Patsy (Art) Jones, Augusta; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home.
Duane Hervie Hill
Duane Hervie Hill, 87, Ft. Dodge, brother of Roberta Bartleson of Augusta, died on Friday, May 30,2008.
A private service will be held.
Other survivors: sisters, Ivalee O’Grady of Cimarron and Twila Bleam of Wichita.
