Retired Groceryman Frost Dies At 79
Wayne Frost, 79, 119 W. Clark, died Saturday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Brooks will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Public Library.
He was born Sept. 30, 1904 in Atlanta to Fred E. and Cornelia Martin Frost.
He married Maxine E. Reed June 20, 1942 in Augusta. She survives.
He was the retired owner of Frost’s Market in Augusta.
He was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church.
He served in the army during World War II. He was a member of the Douglass Blue Lodge, Wichita Consistory, the Augusta Lions Club and the American Legion.
Other survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Courtwright of Augusta; a brother, Jim Frost of Seattle; a sister, Ruth Frost of Augusta, and three grandchildren, Julie, Amy of Eric Wayne Courtwright of Augusta.
A son, Frederick Jay Reed, preceded him in death in 1949.

Florence Bacon
Florence L. Bacon of Chanute, formerly of Augusta, died at the Bethesda nursing home there Sunday, Dec. 18.
There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Bacon at the Leanna Cemetery in Chanute at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21. The Johnson Mortuary of Chanute is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Robinson of Yardley, Pa., and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Bacon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1978.

Opal Tway Dies At 62
Opal Marie Tway, 62, 217 Main, died this morning at her home.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 22, 1921 in Augusta to James and Ellen Tribble Chenault.
She married Clarence Tway Nov. 5, 1940 in El Dorado. He survives.
She was a member of the Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church.
Other survivors include daughters, Mabel Ellen Busch of Augusta and Bonnie Marie Angleton of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Maxine Riggs and Mary Moody, both of Augusta, and five grandchildren.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 77
Alma M. Baum, 77, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, died this morning at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado. Rev. Mel Brown will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
She was born Aug. 2, 1906 in El Dorado to Ira and Ida Robinson Richardson.
She married Porter M. Baum Oct. 4, 1922 in Augusta. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1963.
She had lived all of her life in the Augusta and El Dorado area. She worked in the kitchen at Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Survivors include a son, Harold R. Baum of Vernal, Utah; three daughters, Anna Johnson of El Dorado, Betty King of Wichita and Jerry Cebula of Spokane, Wash.;three sisters, Vivian Rader of Monte Vista, Colo., Lucille Hollowell of Wichita and Louise Musik of Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Duane P. Baum, and four brothers also preceded her in death.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Mother Dies In Wichita
Margaret M. Lawrence, 65, Wichita, mother of John C. Lawrence of Douglass, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Woodlawn Nursing.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita. Father Wilfred Lowery officiated and burial was in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Other survivors include; a daughter, Paula Tull of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Paul E. Hendren of Wichita; sisters, Darlene F. Conner of Wichita and Mary D. Tucker of Jackson, Miss., and 10 grandchildren.
