Carole M. Pennington
Carole M. Geu Kilts Pennington, 68, Udall, passed away, on Sunday, Sept. 7,2008.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, at Miles Funeral Home in Winfield. Funeral service will be held at 2;30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the First Baptist Church in Udall. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery.
She was born on July 7, 1940, in Wisner, Neb., the daughter of Otto and Rosina (Brannolte) Geu. At the age of 6, the family moved to Eureka Springs, Ark., where she attended school. She moved to Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School, in 1958.
She was united in marriage to A. Dennis Pennington on July 31,1982, at the First Baptist Church in Udall, where the couple made their home. Carole was a sheet metal worker at both Cessna and later Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. She also worked as an aide at the Winfield State Hospital, and a corrections officer at the Winfield Correctional Facility, where she retired in 1992 due to health reasons.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Udall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and growing cactus.
She is survived by: husband, Dennis of the home; sons, Randy Pennington and wife, Tami of Williamston, Mich., Dusty Kilts of Winfield; Keith Pennington and wife, Tammy of Haysville, and Chris Pennington and
wife, Melissa of Rock; daughter, Tracey Kilts of Udall; sister, Aletha Robinson of Winfield; grandchildren, Tristan and Joey Kilts, Jon Eric Kilts, Joshua, Rachel and Caleb Pennington, Bo, Brandi, and Brandon Pennington, Sarah and Jason Love and Adam and Faith Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Merlin Geu.
A memorial has been established in her name with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Home, Winfield.
Raymond Dosser
Raymond Dosser, 89, Augusta, retired laborer for General Mills, passed away, Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel.
Graveside service 10 a.m Thursday, Sept, 11, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the Ohio Street entrance.
Raymond was born in Ringwood, Okla, on Oct. 2,19J8; the son of the late George Albert Dosser and Eliza Jane (Batman) Dosser Hutchcraft. He grew up in Oklahoma before moving to California and graduating from high school in Beaumont. Raymond married Lucille (Ryan) in Enid, Okla, on Dec. 19, 1939 and then served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising cows and the gun club in California. He was also a
member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge.
He is survived by: son, Larry Dosser and wife Linda; daughter, Linda Winzer and husband Richard, all of Augusta; daughter, Sarah Dickhout of Rowland Height, Calif.; sister, La Vella Walther of Laguna Beach, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great -grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Lucille; daughter, Lucy; twin brothers, George and Lafayette; sisters, Mona Snelson, Sarah Graham; half brothers, Jack and Darwin Hutchcraft and half sisters, Ruby Stauffer and Gladys Loomis.
Memorials to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows or Rebekah Lodge.

Jean Weiss
Surrounded by her loving family, Jean Weiss of Augusta. Kansas transitioned
peacefully following emergency heart surgery to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
The family will receive visitors in the church foyer immediately following services.
Jean was born on Oct. 9, 1929, and she married the great love of her life, Louis E. Weiss, on July 21, 1967. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother to her seven children, a committed grandmother and a “super-grandma” to her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She served her community, her church, and her Lord in countless ways.
She is survived by: her loving children, Jay Weiss (Sharyn), Ruby Weiss (Lee), Jon Weiss (Darla), Steve Wisdom, Laurie Weiss (John), Cheryl Hill (Dave), and Kurt Weiss; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister, Marilyn O’Connor (Jerry).
Jean is predeceased by husband, Louis and son, Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Augusta Meals on Wheels program do Priscilla All, 26 Angelina, Augusta, KS 67010, or the First United Methodist Church, 2420 Ohio Street, Augusta, KS 67010.
