Carroll Lee Heide

Carroll Lee Heide, 79, of Leon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009.
Viewing 1-8 p.m. Thursday, with family to greet friends from 6-7 p.m. and funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Leon Cemetery.
Carroll was born in Wilmore, Kan. on June 19, 1929; the son of the late Harry Benjamin and Myrtle (Powell) Heide. He was a dairy farmer had
served in the U.S. Air Force as well.
He is survived by: sisters, Nadine Schmidt of Arlington, Texas, and Christine Edmunds of Salt Lake City, Utah; several nephews and nieces ancjjt^ejr families.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Powell and a sister, Maxine Chadwick.

Gary Dykes

Gary Russell Dykes, 57, passed away on Thursday, Jan.15, 2009.
A private family services will be held at a later date. Gary will be cremated at his request and buried with his mother at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
He was born June 24, 1951 in Leonardtown, Md. to Velma Mary (Howard) Dykes and T. Belmont Burbage Dykes.
Gary was a retired aircraft mechanic and served
three years in the United States Army.
Gary had training as a nurse’s aide and put this to use providing loving care to his mother, brother and companion during lengthy periods of their illness. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by: his brother, Bert Howard Dykes and sister, Ann Brown, both of Augusta; half-sister, Maribelle Ruth Greer Brownlee of Houston, Texas; three nieces, Paula Kay Catlett, Rhonda Greer Bergamini, Robyn Greer; nephew, Jared Lane Dykes; great- niece, Kyla Kay Catlett; one great-nephew,Tanner Bergamini; numerous other extended family members.
Gary was preceded in death by an infant sister Rita, both of his parents, and long time companion, Sherry L. Jones.

Martha Eblen, 76, Augusta, passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.

Elmer R. Coates, 81,Wichita, founded Coates Garage Doors in 1970, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009.

Visitation with family present 6 - 8 p.m., this evening at Broadway Mortuary, Wichita.
Funeral service 1:30p.m. Wednesday, Colonial Heights Assembly of God, 5200 S. Broadway, Wichita. Burial will follow at the Leon Cemetery, Leon.
Survivors include: sons, Craig (Dixi) Coates and Chris Coates of Derby; daughter, Dyanna (Norman) Herrman of Derby; sister, Beulah Parrent, Haysville; grandchildren, Denae Herrman, Chris Herrman, Cami Coates, Casey Coates and Kelli Coates.
Preceded in death by wife, Dolores.
Memorials to Colonial Heights Assembly of God.
