Mary Dell Johnson
Mary Dell Johnson, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Fri-1 day, May 1,2009.
Funeral service was held today. Internment was in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
Pamela Jane Brown and husband Cletus, of 1 Harviell, Mo. and Brenda Fay Menley and husband John, of Fayetteville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Paulina, Rockland, Whitney, Kaitlin and John Cameron; six great-grandchildren, Zackary, Joshua, Marco, Dominic, Mia and Noah; a sister, Evelyn Ladd of Calif.; and a brother, Billy Ward of Wardell, Mo.
Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 28, 1929 in Holcomb, Mo.. She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church, and had retired from the Poplar Bluff R-l School System. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed spending time with her family, attending family reunions, going to flea markets, crocheting, gardening and doing genealogy research.
On Dec. 20, 1947 she married Carl T. Johnson in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death in April of 1992.
Survivors include: five children; Carl Ray Johnson and wife Fay, of Poplar Bluff, Howard Glenn Johnson and wife Sherrie of Augusta, Cindy Lynn Woods, of Poplar Bluff,
Her parents, Charley and Pearl (Stallion) Ward also preceded her in death.

Doris Mitchell
Retired Augusta schoolteacher Doris Mitchell, 88, died Wednesday, April 29,2009.
Her funeral service was held Friday, May 1, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Austin, TX.
Her cremains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery next to the grave of her mother LaVaughn Wattenbarger.
Mrs. Mitchell taught second grade at Garfield Elementary School. She also taught piano lessons to young children and did tutoring in the areas of reading and math - even after her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Tom and his wife Mary Helen Mitchell with whom she made her home before she became a resident of the Austin Retirement & Nursing Center.
Memorials to the building fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church have been suggested.
Charles Donald Anderson
Charles Donald Anderson, 86, Wichita, retired attorney and Federal Public Defender, father of Jani (Jim) Stoffle of Augusta, died on Sunday, May 3 2009.
Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. this evening; funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, both at the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, Wichita. Full military burial honors will follow in the Richland Cemetery, rural Douglass.
Other survivors: wife, Ruby; children, C. Douglass Anderson, Anne Roach, Mary Leierer, Marc Anderson, Missi Simon; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Anderson; sisters, Dorothy Bush and Sylvia Fritchman.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
